@Dcb.blake We moved up from a 36 gasser, to a 07 36 DP Country Coach inspire (base model) w/ 400hp Cat. We pull my flatbed fully loaded with ease. The braking and weight of the coach is so nice. A warning they are not cheap to get worked on. Recently took to Colton Truck Terminal for some service and minor repairs they were great but the total was not.

Inspected it today and all seemed good. It has been responded a couple years ago and had atad bit of checking in the black stripes. Dosent bother me too much, seen some new ones on the lot with it. Besides needing a good wash inside and out the thing is ready. Bags checked out new tires this year6 new full rivers for the coach then two new motor batteries this year. 4 panel solar system etc. All the appliances worked great and were working at full potential. Very well built unit for a 2000. Couldn’t pass it up for the price.


My question is the leveling system. This one has an air system which seems to be a good thing? Anyone know how much range the coach has to level itself? I do a lot of desert stuff and sometimes the spots are very unlevel so I wanted to great an idea in case I need to drive on blocks or what have it.

Country Coach was the market leader for many years with a level of finish still not matched by most manufacturers.The air bag leveling always worked out for me but doesn’t have as much range as hydraulic jacks.

Yea you can tell they didn’t mess around on these units. Everything’s super solid. Much nicer than any toy hauler I’ve had and they have all been 10 years newer.

As far as the leveling I kinda like the simplicity of it. Already have air why add another system. Don’t plan on camping on the side of Everest anytime soon

I’m currently looking at a 2000 country coach intrigue 40ft. Has the 8.3l which I like. Guys owned it for 16 years. 150k mikes which I think is low but compared to others seems higher which I think is due to people not using them . Has brand new tires this year as well as 6 new full river batts with solar. Works out good because I do a lot of dry camping. A lot of guys have propane gen vs the diesel which I would prefer?

The diesel genset 100%. Its not even close.

The propane gens drink like sailors on leave and you can't carry enough propane to dry camp for long - and if you use it all on the genny then your fridge goes.

Propane is great for everything else.

On most of these you won’t have a choice, you will have a diesel Gen set.

I just ran ours over the grapevine from Fresno to the Sand Show. 400 ISL, 40’ Newmar, weighs 28k lbs. walked right on up both ways. Didn’t need to use the brakes going down either way just used the exhaust. Moved up from 40 years worth of gassers. Love how this thing drives Freightliner / Neway IFS.

What a diff. It’s still not done but it’s usable.

I just bought a safari cheetah m36 aka Monaco. It has a cat c7 350/865 engine and Alison m300mv trans. It pulled 6% grades pulling my cj7 on a 20’ buggy hauler pj trailer at 42-48 mph.

That is about 5000 lbs being towed while it has a 10k tow rating.

Yes Monaco bought the name in 02 I believe. Same story with the early beavers. Monaco bought in 01ish. They both kept tbt names but were built by Monaco. The early beavers are supposed to be the bees knees. Good build quality and high tech for the times. The ones built pre Monaco. Some have big ass c-12s.


Really likes the foretravels but they are short on the ceiling height lol

Big change, liked the paint job before better though ! Looks really nice! Is that the really flexible waterproof flooring? I forget the name. The inside is what I’ll be focusing on with the one I got. I have a section of old carpet that I will replace. Not sure I want to do carpet or some sort of flooring like you’re doing. I’m just worried about the transition to the white tile and how appealing it will look to the eye.


Also want to do new Corian counters as a couple are cracked. Want to do a darker granite sort of look to make the cabinets and wood pop. New handles and possibly refinish the cabinets.

Safari was one of their brands. Cheetah is a model.

I’d say anywhere from 35-60ish pending on year motor combos and slides. I picked this one up for 35. Needs a little tlc for myself but it’s 100% ready to use if I wanted.

2000 country Coach intrigue 40’, single slide, 1600 gen hours on power tec gen, air leveling system, aqua hot heater system, new tires this year new batteries newer turbo and hyd cooler. Painted about 5 years ago or so. New batteries haven’t added up the solar system wattage yet but there’s 4 panels 8.3l Cummins 350hp with 150k miles

Being a Country Coach bumps the price 5 to 10K in a normal market.

As a reference point I paid 25K for a Dutch Star 3 years ago with 80,000 miles. Put about 4K into it for 1 new AC unit, air bags, fluid changes, etc. did the work myself. Also updated the inside a bit for the Tommy Bahama feel.
So $35K for a decent County Coach seems like a very fair price.

interior colors can be changed as long as the lay out is acceptable. One issue we have is getting in /out of the bed is so cramped they don’t you very much walk room

That flooring was the cheapest Shit they could find. Filled up a waste wheeler and a half.
