I enjoy seeing others post about the positive things their kids are doing or have done which make you proud of some of our youth today. This is my opportunity to share.
My 20 year old son Graduated his Fire Academy in December and immediately applied at General Atomics in Palmdale for a Firefighter 1 position. A few weeks later he gets set up with a phone interview then a few days later was set up with an interview with the Fire Captain. He was told at the time to be patient and look for an email, of course he has been checking that ever 15 mins. Yesterday he calls me and said he was hired on, he was almost in tears. Still a background check and of course the drug test to do but he is walking on cloud 9 at the moment. Another plus is the location is only 30 miles away from the house and no traffic to deal with.
