My son was recruited by University of Washington to be their starting long snapper. We did the official visit last weekend and he committed. Seeing everything behind the scenes can’t say enough how impressive their entire program is. On top of being a starter at a Big 10 football program he will be getting a top notch education as well. Team is doing what it takes to make a run at the national championships.

Go Dawgs!!!

Big Congrats to your son and your family.
Great time to be a recruited college athlete at a big time school with scholarships and money for athletes.
Can take a lot of stress off the parents.

Congrats to your son.
Good job dad.

Washington’s coach is solid. Met Fisch when he was at Arizona, when I was onsite for a few alumni meetings.
How he left Arizona will always be a red flag. But he is a great coach, who seems to care about his players.

He played at Utah Tech and entered the transfer portal. Washington was watching him for the last year and jumped at the opportunity. He played at a smaller division, one school to gain more experience and notoriety before entering the portal.

He had quite a few offers from some big 12 and SEC schools, but after doing visits, Washington was the leader for him to call home.

He’s ranked in the top 10 long snappers in the country as well as quite a few other accolades.

I love the fact that he went to a smaller school to develop and get more opportunities. Too many kids are worried about the big name. Congrats!

Fantastic!!! Football changed me forever. Since then after raising 2 sons, Education is not complete without PAIN, both physical and mental. It teaches you about boundaries and there are none. When you think you're done, think again and push forward. My boys played football for a short time going on to Motocross, another vicious sport where only the mentally strong survive. My youngest would credit his success in school to what he learned racing moto. Tough as nails mentally and physically. Keep us updated as time allows.

That is awesome!

We have a family friend that went to USC on a full ride them to the Rams for a few years purely as a long snapper. Not a bad route to some quick pro cash for a few years if good. Not too much competition for the position and its pretty specialized. Also fairly low injury risk now-a-days with damn near guaranteed playing time.

Congrats to him! Keep him motivated and he will do great things. My dad was recruited as a long snapper for Washington as well. Then drafted by the Cleveland Browns. I can see your son going this route being ranked in top 10

I see they already took down his picture on the Utah Tech football roster page. Along with a bunch of other kids that must have hit the portal. 😳😜
Yah they took a huge hit this year after a 1-11 season.

Sadly we really loved the school and the area. my son put his heart into that program hoping he could’ve been a part of building it but after 3 tough years he needed to do what’s best for him and his future.

He says he’s going back to St George after school to build his life there and UT will Always have a place in our hearts.

Congratulations Riverbound!
As some have mentioned, I have always been a UW fan and as you know he is going to a very well-heeled academic school that has an emphasis on education then NCAA football to boot. I am so happy for you and your son, the work and time that goes in to getting a scholarship for football starts when your son is about 10 YO and takes totally dedication from the family!

I have 2 sons that were being looked at by the UW, oldest son got snuffed out by not playing during Covid lock downs in WA State, my youngest had a major knee injury late in his JR year and lost the speed colleges were looking for at linebacker when he was a SR.

Again, congratulations to you and your son!

That’s Awesome. Congratulations. Back in the day I coached little league with my stepdad and had kid on our team named Chris Boston. Now he has a son Denzel Boston that plays there also. He is a wide receiver

Congratulations to your son Bill! Great accomplishment and excellent education. That should open quite a few doors for his future!
