Bowl games have always been silly, adding the playoffs only makes it more silly. I am old school and don't mind, the kids deserve playing in a celebration game, as long as they had a + 2 winning record.

NIL has totally disrupted the college game, and it is the fucking wild west right now. I don't like that but it is what it is.

Agreed on everything except the playoffs. I think they’re a great idea that’s long overdue. Helps out the best teams with the toughest schedules. NIL and the transfer portal are a wreck. I’m sure it’ll settle in a decade after some negotiations and a ton of lawsuits but damn.

I like college ball but I feel like I'm getting burnt out on it. Especially when they start doubling up with pro games on the same days. Its almost too much.

Its interesting how much “filler” sports is becoming that they have to come up with ways to have more of it. Because if you think about it, most people would probably drop cable/Directv if sports were short seasons. Its clearly the advertising dollars at play that drives these decisions.

In Jr High we had a Science Teacher Mr Swanson that played with USC in the Rose Bowl.
It was a BFD to us kids.
Maybe the Bowl games aren't all the Legacy media makes them out to be, but they have their place & their bragging rites and their goals & personal memories.

Remember when colleges were places of higher education?

Reporter: "What are your players going to do now the season is over?" Bobby Knight: "Go back to class."

NIL and the transfer portal have finally turned college football into what it really wanted to be all along, the NFL minor leagues.

The only bad thing about the playoffs is it made every other bowl game irrelevant. And I used to watch them all. Took away the conference rivalries such like the Rose Bowl had.

Dion Sanders and His "KID" GOT HUMBLED, last night!!:D

Exactly! Amazing Hunter got Heisman with that poor of a QB. Sanders is textbook nepotism.

BYU crushed them. My wife said BYU is finally playing as good as they did at start of season. I corrected her and said, no, they just look good because Colorado sucks.

He was "Hinting" all week to "Watch my Cleats", as he feels that he is in such demand that he knows which "NFL" Team will Draft him #1.🤔 So yesterday he showed up to the Game with the "NY" Giants LOGO on his Shoes.:D

I blame that on the collapsing conferences just as much as the playoff system. The die hard fans will still show up to support non playoff games. In person and on TV. I like the fact that there will be a true champion at some point.

This is going to be fun to watch play out.

How do you feel about Penn St chances?

We had the easiest path to the Semifinals but I think that’s where the train stops. Georgia heading to the Championship game against either OSU or OU.

I took Georgia in my pick'ems. But they lost their starting QB in the SEC game. 🤷‍♂️ Next man up. ;)

Is it all about money? USC, with a dismal 6-6 record, makes it to a bowl game. It is all about money.

Well, if prime time ends up sending the #1 @ #2 picks to the NFL draft this year, i would think that means they were pretty good players, not sure how next season will look for the buffalos minus them 2.

College Football is going through a total revamp because of NIL and the transfer portal.

My guess is the lower division schools will become the minor leagues until the kids get “drafted/recruited” by a division 1 school after a year or two to red shirt in the smaller schools.

I believe community college doesn’t count towards your 4 or 5 year eligibility. Meaning if they do 2 years of community college ball then transfer to a Division 1 it’s like starting your college career brand new. That means you could have 25 year old quarterbacks playing in college with an insane amount of experience against 19 year old defenses.

I think community colleges and smaller colleges will be the triple A of baseball and that will be where the division 1 coaches find talent.

I dunno about Georgia...
IF(Big if) Notre Dame can shut down Georgia's run game they'll win. They lost their best defensive tackle which really hurts them.ND's strength is their defensive backs.
Linebackers will be the key for ND's defensive efforts.
Georgia's wide receivers are kinda pedestrian. Georgia leads the nation in dropped passes and they struggle against mobile quarterbacks.Riley Leonard can run.
Not a huge SEC fan.
I'd love to see a Midwestern battle between ND and PSU.

No doubt I’d love to see that as well.

It sucks that college sports have officially been tainted by viewership / TV money, but at least it's above board now. The NCAA has taken advantage of the kids for a long time and never attempted to bend to common sense sharing of the massive amount of money the NCAA made off the collegiate athletes.

The NIL system right now is the fucking wild west, no rules, no structure and any school / booster club could pony up and but the best talent every year, like the Yankees. Still need the coach and program to win, but it will and has upset the collegiate structure of sports. The NCAA needs to grow some balls and set up guidelines for it. Until that happens it will continue to be chaos and the obvious minor league for the NFL. I think it's bad for the athletes and colleges, but WTF do I know.

Bama with another loss. 9-4 on the season. Worst since 07’. Gonna say they’re not fans of the new system.
