What's the route to take in Arizona when a homeowner has issue with a contractor? What's the best route? California has the state contractors board, I'm assuming AZ has something similar? Or should A person get an attorney involved as the first step?

Not sure OAD, but you might inquire with AZ Registrar of Contractors.

As Stainless said, the Arizona ROC will help. IMHO I believe they stick behind the homeowner more than Ca would.
If you had any questions, you've got my number.

Just like was said. The AZROC. I had to open one up and the contractor is fixing the problem as we speak. He claimed he did everything properly and the board disagreed.

Contracting got busy again, now everybody and their brother is a contractor.
When things slow down, most of the fly by guys will be gone.

My problems are with an established builder....When they get busy they seem to forget how they got there.

Thanks everyone for the info, feel slightly better that there is a route to go. Gonna give it this week before I contemplate next steps.

Document everything from here on out. I'd also go on the ROC website and see if your contractor has any prior complaints against him and for what. This is something all homeowners should do prior to signing a contract.[emoji106]
