Trying my best to not be a dick here .......but is the paint/gel at the rear corners a tad bit less than most Schiada owners would tolerate?

Looks a little rough there..

That is why I stated it needs to be touched up int he rear corners and showed clear pictures so there are no WTF's :D

Why not just have someone rebuild the motor and keep the boat. At least he knows the demons in this one versus getting something else that is unknown.

That's what I was thinking, build a new 496 shortblock and put the boat together,, maybe he won't get beat up quite so bad if he gets it completed and running. Pump gas blower motor could be a turn key deal and still go plenty fast.

How many woman do you prefer? :D

Ha! Prefer or want or get? My bride of 41 years is the proud owner of a sawed-off shotgun and believes in a terribly quick divorce called loss of spouse.

Sounds like I need to talk to her then. That TT motor could have a fire sale very soon! ;):D

Is that not an option? Cheap, reliable crate motor... minus the crescent wrench?
Surely he could part out the other & recoup a few samolians.... No ?

Other than that, someone "suggested" $10K??? As is???..... Take the $$$ & run like a bandit.

As is there probably isn't much if a market. Even being a vdrive. I would have to say he probably won't see any offers over 6k. It's probably worth more. But what it's worth and what he's gonna get are two different deals. As it is its still a "project" albeit a nice project.

You're right on the mark IMHO.

Value, Replacement cost and even what a new one would cost are only benchmarks....the bottom line is what someone is willing to pay based on what they think it will cost to finish and most guys who are willing to pay the premium for a Schiada will want it perfect....just the nature of the beast so they will be thinking about all the little things that need to be done and that all costs money!!

GLWTS hopefully he'll find that perfect buyer and I'm wrong:thumbup:

I think you guys are off. I sold my bare hull for 4500. It had not a wire or hose in it. This boat is rigged. Just add motor and run it. V drive, cav plates, interior is all there.

Or better yet one of those new small block chevy crate motors that make like 600 - 700 HP right out of the box.......fuel injection and everything ready to go from what I hear.

The weight savings in the 20' would make it fly with that much HP......and those motors run on pump gas

I was waiting for someone to say something. YES! You could only imagine the look on our faces when we pulled the intake off :eek

So who built the old engine? The original owner? I have seen washers on the butterfly of a carb but never a wrench in the valley.
