We recently did an article on a boat called "Today's Special" that showed some pretty next level work by the crew down at DCB.

http://www.riverdavesplace.com/foru...display-of-DCB-s-SkillsTodays Special Article

I was just informed the owner of that boat (Kenny Gonzales) was involved in an accident on his way out to Lake Havasu in his Sport Chassis, and they were air lifted out.

Prayers go out to all involved.

RD :(

I was reading a post on the River Whips FB page about the accident and them being airlifted, but no mention of who it was. Prayers to them!

Damn. I sold him that boat. Kenny is a good guy. I thought about it when I saw the post about a sport chassis in a wreck on the 40. I hope he's ok. Please keep us posted.

Oh man, how horrible. Didn't know the guy, but randomly follow him on Instagram. Made the connection when I saw the boat in the first post.

In reading the comments on that picture it appears as though the truck blew over due to windy conditions and there are no airbags in the truck because it is a commercial vehicle and they are not required. Something to be aware of if you have a sportchassis.

Kevin I don't think that truck blew over? They don't exactly have the surface area of the trailer on a semi for when that actually does happen. I also don't believe their was strong winds that day? that was a few days before?

I agree that the physics of it don't really make sense but his comment said "wind gusts #won" maybe it blew them off the road and then flipped over? This is all purely speculation on our part of course.

What up with the #lawsuit tag?

Thinking it relates to the tag before #noairbagsdeployed
3 sides to each story, so who knows what really occurred, just hope driver and passenger recover and don't have lasting issues

No way that thing blew over, nor do I think a gust of wind caused the crash. Most people never want to admit user error, me being one of them. I can think of countless accidents I've been in that I always blamed other things when in reality I simply "ran outta talent".

Either way, I'm glad both are alive and seem to be recovering. The truck can always be replaced.

As someone who's very familiar with the sportchasis. I can tell you with 100% certainty that there's now way wind pushed it over. worst case if there were any ill handling it was due to the modifications to the drive train.

I can tell you, I've hit a dust devil a few times, once on rice rd. a few years ago in a HD2500 and last Friday on I40 in my Yukon. In the HD 2500 I saw it coming and slowed down a bit but still got pushed to the shoulder, fortunately in a well compacted gravel section. In the Yukon (last Friday) I didn't see the dust just noticed the bushes laying down hard so was able to brace for it and it pushed me over a half lane and ripped the moulding off my roof rack. If at any of those moments I wasn't prepared, to counter steer hard, it could have easily ended badly.

Saw this after it happened on Wednesday afternoon in the center of the 40. Glad to hear they are going to recover.

Wind wasn't too bad when I went by, I was pulling a toy hauler and wasn't having any issues with wind on the drive.
