So the drivers power window quit working on my '02 Tahoe.
It got slow then quit. All the other ones work fine.

Should I go to the body shop, glass shop, or mechanic shop?
Believe it or not I've never had one fail before.

I'd start with a mechanic. Could be a window switch, maybe a motor etc.. A mechanic be able to straighten you out though. Good luck.

I'm just wondering what a "lower window" is?

I went through 2-3 on my '04 Silverado crew cab. Very common issue. It's a relatively easy fix, with lots of how-to's available on YouTube. Otherwise any mechanic can do it for you w/ minimal labor.

On mine the cables seemed to get bound up on the windows that didn't get used often making the motor work harder and eventually give up. Had to zip tie one up during a few hundred mile drive...good times.

As a preventative, maybe worth using white lithium grease on the remaining window regulator assemblies?

Pretty confident to say it is a window regulator. If you have the time it is a pretty easy repair. Would probably save you a hundy or so on installation costs. Pretty sure The part is available on amazon or if you have a napa around they carry them.

I own an auto glass biz and i've done probably a hundred or more of them in my life time.

There is a screw behind the lock/unlock tab thing, 2 at the bottom of the door panel and one behind the cover that pops off around the opening lever. After you get all of them out the door panel will lift up to come off. The glass is held on to the regulator by two 10mm bolts. You do not have to take them all the way out. Like everyone else said, just you tube it.

Thanks all.
I'm used to pulling door panels for stereo installs, I'll check it out tomorrow!

I've done it on our suburban, not too hard. Did it three times on my daughter's 325i. One tip, don't buy a cheapo replacement part. LOL :thumbsup

You have a couple of options. Best to evaluate where is the possible cause.

1) Ground is bad. Check the resistance of the chassis ground across the door hinges.

2) The power line connection is bad. Check the connector across the door wire harness to the body harness.

3) The regulator motor is just plain worn out.

I would go find out the root cause, then pick one of the three.

If it was working and just got slow with creaking/crunching sounds then stopped it's most likely a regulator.

Like everyone else has said, not a tough repair. Buy a Delco replacement unless you like doing it every 500 cycles....the aftermarket ones are shit.
