Anybody use them and if so any pros and cons, particular brands to recommend? Its a pretty tight squeeze putting the boat back in the river garage and it takes three of us to do it by hand.

Any leads on some used units would be appreciated also as I've priced them online and there fairly pricey for a decent unit.

I had the Power Mover AC5 when I had my Ultra. For a while it had to be put into storage that was not really designed for boats. It had to be jack knifed in to make it. I used the AC5 and it was SO easy. That thing could spin that trailer around in circles if I needed it to. Just make sure the ground is somewhat level and dry. Traction is important ;) Worth every penny!!!

I also need to get something like that. I wish I knew someone in my area that had one that I could try out and see how I like it.

Needed one at my last house. Searched all over and even called manufacture and could never get a demo to prove it would work with my boat at my location. Ended up just getting storage.

I have the "power caster" .Works with no problem.
They are expensive but better than storage.

I have all of them. Electric, gas, I got em all.
Power Caster PC3 is the one I like most and the most powerfull with the best traction and best customer service.
The gas powered ones lack traction.

I had the yellow power mover dollie and it moved my deck boat around with no problems into tight spaces. I sold it to another boat owner. I chose this one over the power caster (red/orange color) due to to the fact that it required no modifications to my trailer. There is a small connecting hitch that bolts right to the tongue of your trailer and you can't even see it. The other one required welding a connection piece onto my trailer which I did not want to do.

It will not for your boat. I got that one first on craigslist, sold it the same day for more than i bought it for and bought the PC3 the next day. I got lucky.

They are out there, just keep looking in the offseason.

If you think one day you'll be buying a 5th wheel,, the Power caster is the only one that'll handle it.

Power mover guy has backed off his claims his will work with 5th wheels,, though most his pics are still up, and he for a while claimed his was the only one that work with a 5th wheel.

The power mover guy is a scary, disturbed person,, the power caster people are really cool.

My Power Caster moving our 5th wheel:

Just came across a new product that looks very cool -- might be your answer. It's called the Trailer Valet -- it's a tongue jack that has a mechanical (gear reduction) hand crank with a double swivel wheel and a safety brake. They have a website, www.trailervalet.com and a nice demo video. The suggested retail price is $399 which sounds reasonable! They'll have a booth display at the Lake Havasu Boat Show.

Looks like a good setup and priced right as well. The only issue I see is if you have to try and steer the direction of the boat you dont have any hands free as you have one cranking and the other holding the brake open.

Being able to lock open the brake without having to hold it would be optimal.

I have a Power Caster PC2 the only way to go. They work great if you need move your boat in to very tight places.

The hand crank one looks like a pile.
