Powellfest '08 Time!!!!!!!!!

OK,, Official start date for this trainwreck is August 14th. It will run through the morning of the 18th.

The Castle Rock cut should be open so we are looking at holding this one up in Padre Bay (location for the first one). Mileage wise, it's actually closer to this beach than the previous 2 years plus it opens up alot more lake to play on.

Dinners will consist of Potluck on Thursday night, Tittie's and Beer's shrimp boil on Friday night, and the Luau Pig on Saturday night.

We will be heading uplake to set up camp on Thursday Morning. Thurs. will pretty much just be a relax day.

Friday we will do some short trips to show off the lake to the newbies (probably Face Canyon and Rock Creek). We will get the pit prepped for Mr. Piggo on Friday.

Early Saturday morning, we fire up the pit then its off on the Poker Run.

Back to camp around 4 pm on Saturday, Do the Poker Hands... then eat Pig!!

Sunday morning,, nurse the hangover from Saturday night, pull up camp, and head in.



T-shirt design is in the works right now.

This is one hell of a good party so don't miss it.

Anyway, I was wondering, what spots on the lake are "must see's"? Any great beaches, fantastics sites, etc.?

The "must sees" on the lake change with the elevation of the lake. I had vacationed at Powell for 15 years prior to moving there 8 years ago and I still find things that I've never seen before.

I'm sure that at least one of us will be out scouting beaches the week of the 4th.. isn't that right Mark?

:beer We'll keep me posted, let us know what you find. We will be there for a full week. My folks are older, and we will be using their little putt putt pontoon boat. We'll have the kids too, and would love too see some sites. When I was little we vacationed in Powell, back when rainbow ridge (?) still had water underneath it.

We'll be there with Mr and Mrs Knucklehead, myself and dezertrider. Where about powell do you guys live?

jet ski would be fun there. We had fun with our waverunners exploring the fingers one year.

Bonnie is doing good, got final blood test done today and should have results tomorrow. She doesn't seem to think anything is wrong and is enjoying the extra car rides to the vet. I should bring her to Powell she did win us a free 5 day trip on a houseboat 2 years ago at Powell fest.

OK, I have the pricing for the houseboats that are availible for Powellfest. This year we have pricing packages from both marinas. If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll give you the pricing information and contact info as well.

Unfortunately, the pricing is a bit higher this year, but then again, so is everything else

The deals I've worked out are a substantial savings over what the general public can get.
