Unreal……..
Ouch
I was just thinking exactly this.Never been to Powell, and now I'm worried if it's even going to be there when I can
Pray fo snow in the upper Colorado watershed or it's going to be a crazy trip through the may tag straights this summer.

Why they haven’t built a pipeline from the Great Lakes and other Upper Areas to the Colorado is beyond me. It floods up there every year. Makes too much sense I guess?Damn... we need to get a straw to pull water from flood areas to the Rockies
Something tells me it has nothing to do with snow levels and everything to do with this how those who manage the water want it. Havasu doesn’t fluctuate but a few inches at most Although l agree 99% Havasu and Mohave don't/won't fluctuate more than 3-4' They are not storage reservoirs, more of slow down of the Colorado to better manage the distribution of the water. "They" dropped lake mead like never before, last year. Regardless of what "government" data someone might post.

It's no secret they are letting Powell drop and keeping Mead as full as possible, I'm not sure on the complete plan and reasoning, but it's on purpose. 5 states just signed an agreement to reduce their entitlements, to save approximately 500,000 acre feet in the next two years, this will raise Mead by approximately 16'. The snow pack will impact this plan depending on the snowfall. As far as Havasu and Mohave they are not considered reservoirs and have little impact on the big picture, but must be kept within a certain range because of the outlets.Something tells me it has nothing to do with snow levels and everything to do with this how those who manage the water want it.

Go find your own water.
i wondered why they spent so much money on a new ramp that still is in the dirt at Hemmingway. figured they were going to keep the water higher this year.this will raise Mead by approximately 16'.
I've wondered the same thing, maybe they figure it will come up to those new ramps with the spring run off.i wondered why they spent so much money on a new ramp that still is in the dirt at Hemmingway. figured they were going to keep the water higher this year.
On plus side.. I am going to see how close I can get to Lone Rock this weekend in my wife's jeep. I will come in from the NE off of NP230 from Warm creek!

Good looking Magic!View attachment 1087176 June 2021
Went in august no problem getting motorhome to beach. Thing that sucked half of lonerock was a cliff. And good part was packed when I got there. I was in truck first if fam to get there to get spot but like going back to late 80s there’s always a way to get to the water without getting stuck. So we used to go back in the 90's up until 2003 or so to Lone Rock...loved it there! I have always wanted to go back. Obviously a lot has changed and I have been watching the water levels online hoping they would come up.
As for camping...what has it been like getting a motorhome down to the water like in the old days? Anyone have any pictures of the campsites at Lone Rock and feedback on the sand, terrain, etc.?
Thanks in advance!
It's been Level or a slight increase for quite a few months nowIsn’t mead dropping as well though?
