I've been tossing around the idea of a bunkhouse travel trailer for awhile. I'm just not sure we would use it enough. I need to pour a pad down the side of the house either way, then maybe.

Lol, yep same trailer. They made two models of the same trailer. You could order it with either four bunks in the back or two bunks (bottom bunk is a full) with a half bath.

What year is yours, mines a 2009. It's been good to us.

2013 Forest River Shockwave 32ARDX. We upgraded from a 2006 Fleetwood Gearbox 260FS. Tows a heck of a lot better as well!

1994 Coachman ghetto cruiser. Luckily it's dark so you can't see all the waves in the sides and cracks in the fiberglass. Believe it or not everything works in here. 460 with a Banks intake and exhaust. Looks like shit but I wouldn't hesitate to start a cross country trip tomorrow.

I'm still trying to find the high speed ternet that they say is in each room. Might be like roaches, fast roaches.

Just picked up this 29' Splash, paid for cash under 6K. Everything was replaced within the last year including the carpet.

Here she is.....the 1999 Jamboree. Behold it's majestic beauty......

No slides, no auto leveling, no payments!

You can usually find her in her natural habitat - the backyard nestled in cobwebs

Before anyone squawks - Reinforced rear frame rails, 10k Eckhart hitch and on the E450 chassis with heavier duty front coils and rear sway bar / track bar kit. 4.56 gears and short rear tires keep it humming along up the grades at 7mpg [emoji3]

It only pulls the boat from Needles to Havasu, or Needles to Park Moabi. Launches the boat fine, short Moho @ 26'

I would like to step up to a 5th wheel bunkhouse model and have been close a couple of times, but we only use the trailer we have a couple of times a year now. It's a 2005 Sprinter 249 RKS we bought new in 2006 for a great price of 15K, we paid cash for it. It's hard to justify payments after not paying payments, same thing with the boat. Bought it at a great price and paid cash.

The trailer sleeps 4 comfortably and seats 7 easily for dinner time. It sucks when it rains, all the kids crap laying around on the floor, would really be nice to have a 30' bunkhouse model. It's been a great trailer with minimal repair costs over the last 10 years. Probably has 10K miles total on it, we don't travel far in the PNW to camp.

1998 GBM Maverick - Now running pretty damn good. Everything works. Bought New and my kids have grown up with this thing.

It's now 18 years old but I guess it's better than not having one at all. Were thinking of having it wrapped.

Anyone notice that huge brown head poking out of the back of my truck in the RV pics? He was an English Chocolate lab named Tezzo. He loved water and anytime the trailer came home he bolted for the truck and wouldn't get out unless I dragged him out. I normally left him in the truck overnight then we took off the next day. When we off loaded he was the last thing to come out, he hated not camping. Yarding his big ass out of the truck wasn't easy, he was 115 pounds with really short legs and stout chest, built like a Rottweiler but with a love for camping / water. Normally if he got out it would take hours to track him down, but if the trailer was in front of the house he wouldn't go anywhere.

Our latest chocolate lab (Wilson) is 2 1/2 years old and weights 135 pounds and is much taller, thinner and athletic. I brought the trailer home and Wilson (I call him Dorkie) pushed the front door open and jumped in the back of my work truck. The tail gate was still up, he had to clear 5 and a half feet to make it over the tailgate and did. It took a couple of hours to coax him out. He hasn't left me get out of site since I brought the trailer home Friday night.

I just hope he wont be as big a PITA to get out as our last lab when we come home next week.

How much better is a 5th over a bumper pull? I am looking to buy a new one. I just hate the idea of giving up the bed. Right now I have a shell and love being able to lock up my junk and it doubles as a place to crash on over nighters. Plus I have 2 trucks and not excited about having to pay up to prep both for a 5th. Looking in the 26-28 bumper or 32 max in fifth.

We were kind of in the same boat. The biggest difference for me is the interior height of a fifth wheel trailer.
I have not really towed a fifth wheel so can't comment on the difference yet. We are still shopping

Sure are some nice RV's in this thread.

I used to tent camp but got tired of trying to sleep in a tent when it's 100 degrees out at midnight.

That's why I got a RV, the weekend after our first August boat/tent camping trip to Buena Vista with my wife the following weekend we bought a RV.
