Lol your the one that had to toss the insults. Instead why don’t you explain why headspace is not important. What can you do to make it work etc?

Maybe provide some facts instead of childish comebacks. Enjoy your day 🍺
How much have you had to drink already this morning? Try typing a post that makes sense.

I’m not throwing insults, I’m marking observations.

I’m typically not the argumentative type, but I’d have to beg to differ that a Sand Car chassis is structurally safer than a street legal car that has air bags and crumple zones designed into the structure. Maybe a Class 1 built Alumicraft or Jimco type car is safer but not a Sand Car. Either way I’d still wear a helmet, but that being said I’d wear a helmet while riding a street bike. Skulls don’t hold up well to impacts. But I do feel it should be up to the individual operator.
exactly right ! A sandcar is saver than UTV by a little bit, depending which car is better built with the cage.

What would a Baja Bug be considered, since it wasn't originally "intended" for off road use? Asking for a friend.

I’m pretty tired of cunts telling me I need to spend thousands of dollars and take my car out of service for months to possibly make my sand car more dangerous for my family just because they love the California legislator.

If it has a CA plate and street registered, you don’t need a helmet, ever.

Ha, yes I think we all do. You hang onto these conversations more than anybody.

You ready to shut up and go away now or would you rather continue to make yourself look worse?

I’ll keep triggering you until you make some more memes about my sex life. 😂

I can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want to wear a helmet while flying along in the desert/dunes. The human skull can only take a certain amount of contact before things go bad.
I take it you're a Biden voter? This is a law, people have the freedom to wear a helmet if they like. It should be a persons choice. Do you need the government to tell you how to do everything?

RD it does the same thing to me as well. I grew up riding quads and motorcycles and helmets never bothered me but once i put one on in either a sand car or UTV i instantly get car sick. Could never figure out why. Open face helmet and Dramamine helps alot with the car sickness for me.

So why dont "WE THE PEOPLE" actually try to do something about this? How about calling or writing the people in charge of writing this bill and saying NO!
I'm sure your either on facebook, Instagram or some other social mast media sites, go and spread the news to call or write and say NO helmet law!!! It doesn't matter what state your in, we all need to come together NOW as one people!

I would agree with that..

Mostly because I couldn’t fit in my car with a helmet on.

Also I have over $1k in headsets which would need to be replaced.
You are talking gibberish.

Tell me you have no idea what you are talking about without saying “I have no idea what I am talking about”

Mph systems.. in reading your first post I thought the exact same thing that he wrote. If the clearance is that tight there isn’t enough clearance..

Than you start getting hostile and saying you had 3-4 inches but with the helmet ya wouldn’t etc..

Relax man.. there’s a lot of people that don’t understand how far belts stretch and how much your body can squish in the belts in a roll over..

He wasn’t talking down to you or anything else. Just saying consider the clearance.

And yes reading post per post here.. you are being rude.. your first post said what it said..

By the way if ya only have 3-4 inches? Ya don’t have enough.. (being honest)

Be that as it may, side by sides have increased accessibility and visitation to areas that many of us go because there isn't much accessibility and visitation. With that increased visitation comes increased regulation.

Besides, folks like you are largely the exception. My ire is directed more toward those obnoxious clowns who think they are big bad ass offroad and party types. The ones who otherwise couldn't afford to obtain and operate nor have the skills to maintain/drive a real offroad car. The side by sides have now enabled every dirtbag who can sign on a dotted line to head on out and screw things up for the rest of us.

Now we have to go further out to get away from them, but the regulations still follow. Yay.
Don’t ya just hate it when poor people (dirtbags?) do things near you?

The technical term would be sarcasm with a side of irony.

It seems that UTV owners, sweaty boat guests getting sweat on your boat, and thirsty people resting their drink on your stuff live in your head since you keep blaming them because you can’t enjoy yoreself.

Maybe it’s you, not them?
Is he the guy that had the poor sweaty guy lean his arm on his boat while he was grilling burgers or whatever for all the serfs a while back?

Just stay out of his desert and off his pro trails and you’ll be ok.
Or at least stay in the “dirtbag” area.
(Don’t worry Ash, that’s where most of us hang out!)

You know what’s rude? Telling me I have to wear a helmet. You know what else is rude, telling me that I should have planned better when I bought a car years before the stupid law was proposed. The car is 25 years old. It’s been stuffed a lot of different ways over the decades. It was never designed for helmets. I have enough headroom now but add and inch and a half or two for a helmet ind it won’t be. Besides, I don’t want to wear a fuckign helmet in my car on my sand. I sure as hell don’t want to buy 4 helmets, throw 4 Traxx headsets in the trash and buy 4 new traxx sets for helmets.

I have put a LOT of time and money into making the car exactly how I want it and now you want me to strip it, cut it powder coat it and put it all together again? GFY

The extra weight from the helmet could break my kid’s neck if I stuff it again and there is 0 empirical evidence that a helmet will make the car any safer, just as likely, it’s more dangerous. No, I’m not happy.

BTW if you are in my car, your belts are tight, straight jacket tight. The one time I caught our eldest not connecting the crotch strap, I shut off the car and gave him 10 seconds to get it right or he was walking his ass back to camp.

Believe it or not, the world is not made out of Nerf. You can die out there. In fact, every one of us is going to die. High preformance cars flying through the sand dunes is even more dangerous and no amount of helmets, crumple zones, airbags, NTSB testing and turn signals will make it safe. If that’s too much for you, stay home crack a bud light and watch the view.

P.S. 3-4“ was enough to make 2 kids.. or so the Mrs. tells me.

Yes. Who wants to be around dirtbags except for other dirtbags? If you offroad at all, you know exactly what I'm talking about and this is not about being "poor". I know you grew up in a tough situation, but the fact is you pulled yourself out of it and seem to be doing well, which is awesome.
Who is “the rest of us”?
The "rest of us" are the people who have put the work in to obtain actual offroad cars and develop the skills to operate them well in the desert. The people who have been going out there for years to get away for a while and enjoy the environment. The people who are responsible operators, don't leave trash behind, and are considerate of any others we might run into out there. The people who never needed any regulations placed on them because they were never a problem.

Take Glamis for example. Been going there for 40+ years. Been running a rail with no helmet for about 15 years, quads before that. I remember when seeing a ranger out there was extremely unusual. Trash was pretty much nonexistent and nights around camp were dead quiet with no mariachi music.

Fast forward to now. Every clown that can somewhat afford a monthly payment is out there with a side by side putting down their trash and blasting their music. They are driving like morons because they don't have the skills and are causing safety issues. Along come the regulations. Were it not for them being enabled to be out there (side by sides), these problems would be far less. They'd have to actually "earn" their place out there and would probably gain the proper skills and respect that the "rest of us" have.

Fact: If side by sides and their operators weren't out there causing problems, this helmet topic and the fact I may be forced to wear one in my rail after 15 years of not doing so wouldn't be an issue.

I guess I'm totally out of line for being annoyed with that and the source of the problem?
Is he the guy that had the poor sweaty guy lean his arm on his boat while he was grilling burgers or whatever for all the serfs a while back?
Yep. That's me. You guys are funny how you've latched on to that. I don't appreciate random people leaning on my stuff. Oh the horror. Have to try and make something out of that because there's nothing else...certainly not a logical rebuttal to the points I'm making.

And they were brats. The serfs loved them.

This in a nutshell, the rest of us have to spent $$$$$ because a bunch of retards with 99 payments left on their golf carts keep getting themselves killed.

edit: I am flabbergasted by just how many Karens are on this board. I used to wonder how Biden got elected and Bud light stayed in business. Mystery solved.

That guy sure does a good job of proving our points for us. It's as if it is their land personal land for their personal use and no one else's. If they fancy themselves so wealthy and superior, they should buy a private plot of land to recreate on, so they are not beholden to the helmet laws drawn up by people they voted into power.

Not that I want to continue to engage in your silly pattern of completely nonproductive dialogue, but I have to ask, what is your point exactly?

You never do seem to make one and appear to just be here to argue anything and everything to the ends of the earth.

I don't want or need ya to do anything. He simply made an observation that if your helmet would hit the cage then you likely are in a presumably dangerous situation that you may or may not have been aware of. Because that's exactly what you originally posted.

That's all he said before ya went sideways on the guy.

Nobody wants or cares if you wear a helmet, or wants you to modify your car or anything else. I don't wear a helmet, and I'm not changing something of mine for someone else ever..

While I have owned a lot of Sxs's.. I do tend to agree it has brought a bad element to the desert(s)

The helmet's not gonna hit the cage . But I think it'll probably hit the roof.

Just to be clear, I do wear a helmet every time I get in a side by side. Those things are unsafe. What makes them worse is that they Do a pretty good job of compensating for the complete inability to drive in the dunes. They are a lot like seadoos. Any noob with 99 payments can shredded up their 1st day until they can't. At which point they're going So fast and they are so out of shape that the wrecks are horrible.

SU 5 links Have been built for 30 years and head injuries in those cars has not been a systemic problem.

So yeah, when somebody starts quacking about side of their neck that I built the car wrong or just suck it up and buy helmets and headsets and redesigne the entire rollcage or that my car is unsafe, I'm gonna tell him to STFU.

I broke 2 suspension bolts last season. this summer I replaced every heim and replaced every suspension bolt, washer and nut with 12 point grade 8 or better hardware. Don't pretend like you know something about a car when you don't even know what car you are taking about.

I haven’t read anywhere other than in your posts where someone said you built the car wrong or need to tear it apart or any of the things you keep repeating to get to your stfu part..

You seem like your blood pressure is high and you are kinda itching for an argument or something.

When you girls are done arguing, can someone tell me if it's a law now or not. This hasn't been updated https://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=27288
Looks like cvc500(e) says it 1000 cc or less. Why pro r gets exemption. But damn ca makes it hard to understand. 😱

Last season I saw few in pro r no helmets no problems chance to get stopped yep get let go at end most likely.

My experience with rangers there only one ticket and deserved. Could I have been ticket for 2 others yes but attitude with them swayed it to warning. We camp far off the road we get rangers come by for pass check we pass but guys say many talk their way into tickets especially around camp just an fyi. This is since 1986. We get the same two stop by every tday week they stop and chat and tell us stories how many argue with them they get tired and end it with a cite.
