After having Haywards that I would have to rebuild every year, I bought this one two years ago and hasn’t missed a beat. I did have to replace two of the hoses this year, but the vacuum has been great.

I just sold a house in California with a large pool. I have had the same Kreepy Krawly unit, for 10-12 years, which runs when the pool pump is on, which means it is cleaning for 8 hours a day, in the summer. It runs off of a dedicated hose with an inline Pentair large leaf basket. May be older technology but it works great, climbs walls, and doesn't break. We are going to build a new pool in Havasu as this will now be our full-time residence. I will likely stay with something along these lines. Don't want to deal with re-charging issues, such as the unit you referenced. Just my dos centavos. Good luck.

I have had this brand for 5 years now, works great. Mine don't have wi-fi but it is this unit. Has filters inside you take out and hose off. My walls are 90* and it climbs right up them, does not scrub just picks up all the debris. Learns your pool.

Sorry. Should have clarified. Looking for a battery operated one or a plug in. I have this one but it doesn’t work that well. I have had my lines tested for leaks as my pool guy thought I might have a leak and wasn’t getting enough pressure. No leaks.

I have one. It was a gift from my neighbor. He got it, new in the box at the swap meet. I was skeptical. I charged it up, and dumped it in the pool.

It quickly makes its way down to the deep end where it gets stuck. LOL

Our pool drops off pretty quickly and the poor thing can't get the traction it needs to get back up the slope. I do have to say, the deep end gets pretty clean. It has enough power to run for a few hours. It has an internal basket that collects most debris. We get pine needles from my neighbor's stupid overgrown Christmas tree. The needles give it some troubles, but it still collects them.

For $50 it's good, however for $550 I wouldn't bother. I see some with tracks instead of wheels...that might be a key difference.

You can get a rebuild kit. About 10 parts. Cheaper than buying new one and then if its still shitty, toss it

We have been using this one since we redid a few years back. So far, it’s working like a champ. I also liked that it came in gray with gray hoses so it’s not too visible with a darker pebble bottom.

We've been through 3 or 4 models over the years including the one you have. Our pool uses the same pump for the filter as the pool cleaner.

This is hands down a great unit, super simple. I can run my pump on 1/2 power and it still walks around the pool. I even run a leaf basket mid-hose with a nylon stocking around the basket.

It hasn’t worked right since I got it. It’s been sitting for a couple years now.

Are you guys using these to replace the pool man or in addition to a pool man?

I have this guy a Polaris Maxx. Works great. Won't do stairs but it will crawl itself up out of the pool if I turn the pump up to high. It has brushes that scrub the walls. I'm happy.

Wish I hadn't switched to chlorine tabs during COVID when I couldn't find liquid chlorine though. Now my cya levels are through the roof and I have to drain a bunch of water.

I have the same one. It will climb all the way to the coping and scrub the tiles. So far I am happy with it.

We use 2 wheel, they work with split suction skimmer and cleaner as low as 2000rpm. Minimal parts. Pebble pools they last 5 years + before needing anything.
On pebble the only thing they usually need is tires.

The robotic ones do not filter the dirt, they only pick up the debris, and if you have a slope or deep end they have a hard time climbing back up, I tried one, and after two days sent it back.

I've spent a lot of time with the Hayward Navigator.. They're actually not that bad but their feet and wings get worn out quickly on a pebble surface. But since you bring up pressure, I hear ya.. I sometimes I think that too with my pool and system. But when my DE filter is totally clean and properly coated with the DE media it makes a world of a difference. If your Navigator is moving too slow regardless on how much pressure is diverted to it, open up the DE filter and see what's going on in there.

You could always take your Navigator to a local pool store and have them go through it just to make sure everything is working properly. They aren't overly complicated but everything needs to be working properly. Navigators are highly rebuildable, and they totally work when maintained.

I also have The Pool Cleaner after owning others brands, I'm pretty happy with it. I have the 2 wheeled version for my 15k pool. Works great

I would also entertain the idea of robot, but they're not cheap. And knowing myself I would want to buy a good one with the best reviews, and I'm sure they are north of a grand.

I have this one. Zodiac Barracuda G3. Works better than the Hayward I had. Routine maintenance consists of replacing the bottom skirt, footpad and internal diaphragm. All super easy to do. I change the hoses about every 2yrs as they start to stiffen up.

2 or 4 wheel for a Havasu pool?
I have both, for me the four stays bellow the water line so doesn't suck air and attract cattle dogs who pull it out or remove the tires.
