anyone on here do it? or highly recommend someone? Riverside are... looking to do a remodel on my place... plaster, tile... possible coping / pool deck etc.

Also for those that have pools w/ pebble finish... do you love it? I keep getting feedback that it's too rough on kids feet etc. what a bout a baja shelf / step? the bigger the better? or does it rarely get used? any tips are appreciated :thumbsup

We did it a couple of years ago. We went with Jeff Kerber, very satisfied...however, do your homework regarding pumps and filtration, etc. Variable technology is pretty cool! Get prices from a few places. Some dudes had no time for an estimate...pissed me off when contractors blow you off with no call...

We saved a lot of money using subcontractors of the concrete pool deck. I suppose we could've saved that much on each facet of the job, but I only knew a good concrete guy...

We have the pebble tech bottom, before was plain white plaster. The plaster was smooth, but the kids wore the bottoms off their feet and we seriously had kids with bleeding feet coming out of the pool. The pebble tech has texture and "Feels" rough, but is much easier on the skin. Like the feel of a football, a little coarse, but not gonna cut you up...

Yeah already had one person today... gave me a 2hour window... didn't show... I called the company to see if the person was on their way, she said she'd check and call me back. no call back. I'm surprised they throw away "prospects" that are easily worth a couple grand at the minimum.

I did owner builder 12 years ago save a ton of money. Pebble Finnish is the only way to go due to the darker colors your pool will be warmer faster it acts like solar heating. Not that rough if they apply it right no problems here after 12 years. Also i use no acid in my pool bromine tablets only.

We did Pebble Tech a couple of years ago. Looks awesome.
FYI, it isn't going to be a "couple of thousand dollars."

Also, keep in mind that correct pH and water hardness is the key to a lasting pool finish. If you let your pH go you can ruin a pool in a hurry regardless of the quality. And to clarify my prior post, I did not mean literally forever but at least 15 years with proper water balance. That is a long time for a pool finish.:thumbsup

Our kids outgrew the baja step quick but now the dog uses it. I would not fill existing pool space to make one but maybe have a step or beach entry outside of the current footprint?

We had a new pool installed about a year and half ago, Crystal Clear was the best to work with. He does 90% of the work with in house people and equipment. They did all the hard-scape, stacked stone, stamped colored concrete, acid washed concrete, poured in place concrete counters, etc.

Pebble sheen is very smooth and looks great, Baja step (dog loves it, kids too), salt water, variable speed pump, etc.

Not cheap but very, very good.

Oh I know it's not going to be just a couple thousand. I was referring to companies blowing you off... where it could make them atleast a couple thousand, if all I wanted was a basic re-plaster.

Bromine and acid are two totally different chemicals for different purposes. The key is to keep your pH about 7.2-7.6 otherwise you will have problems ranging from skin irritation to degradation of pool finish or hardware. Some pools can stay close enough to seem ok but if your pH is off you may not notice for several years and then it may be too late. You really need to check your water using a professional grade test kit once a week to keep it all good. If you are a DIY pool guy check out http://www.troublefreepool.com/ you will learn a ton.

Good luck:thumbsup

We used Aquascapes out of Corona- Rich Zembruski 951-735-5515 714-299-7891

http://aquascapesinc.com

Just finished our pool yesterday. We tried to get three estimates but the others never showed for the consultation. Rich was the husband of an ex coworker. He got the whole remodel done in 30 days. Phone call-in jacuzzi controller, new led color changing lights, new pump, baja shelf, salt water system and pebble. He got me a finisher and widened our driveway while the pumper was there.

On time, works fast, looks great and at a very reasonable price!

Pool building is a life-long buying into made for the enrichment of your home-setting.A magnificently constructed swimming pool is a dream to all. However once you have decided to construct a pool, there are so many thoughts that walk in randomly. The right swimming pool finish will make all the difference in the aesthetic quality of your pool.A high quality finish will also affect the durability of your pool investment.
Me and my wife making an Endless Pool and situating it in our garage. We completed our pool in Feb of this year.I will be next time post its photo here.

I , have been a pool owner for the last 20 years now ( 18x40 inground ) and you failed to mention all the hard work involved (up-keep ) when owning a pool considering we can only use are pool on a seasonal basis which we enjoy very much
