Wouldn't they need to be spaced dead nuts CL to keep level?

No clue.

Not something I would ever do. But you did ask for a simple solution?

I'm still waiting to see the pics of the other end of the boat.

He said outdrive is 5' from end of toons and can't be moved, it's an outdrive.

Those look like they are titanium toons. Much lighter and more durable so they are more water resistant and that’s why they sit higher on the water. Tell him he needs a heavier motor on the back to offset that. Like maybe twin 500’s. 🤪🤣🤣
If he could afford to have titanium, pontoons, made, he probably could afford a new boat.🤣 Maybe the price of titanium has come down with inflation.🤔

The more I think about it the more is does not make sense. Same size pontoons but due to the material weight the old ones displaced 18” more??? That does not make sense. The new ones must be way out of the water and the old ones way buried in the water. Displacement should not vary that much I would think. What’s the diameter of a pontoon?

The weight of the pontoons makes it float higher? Is it not just their displacement? My brain is hurting. How does it do on a treadmill?

We need to get Mythbusters on the case, ASAP

If they were built dimensionally the same as the steel pontoons aluminum would be approximately three times lighter. That’s a lot of gross weight that doesn’t need to float.🤷‍♂️

Think how much higher a large cargo container ship rides in the water when it’s empty.

The real brain buster is why if oil is lighter than water does an oil tanker ride lower in the water when it’s loaded. 🤣

Make three similar sized cylinders - one is a balloon, one is made from thin aluminum, one is made from lead. All have the same volumetric capacity.

Balloon is going to float on top of the water, aluminum will be partially submerged, and I would think the lead cylinder would float but be mostly underwater?

Wow.... so a lot of you are NOT reading what the OP is writing here......

This isnt just a typical pontoon and it is obvious from the shape of the toons. This is more houseboat style and....... IT HAS A I/O. A LOT more difficult to adjust height on that.

now... to the OP. What kind of drive does it have on it? I'm assuming its just a small center pod? Sounds like the replacement toon builder fucked up and built the new toons too tall. Assuming those were fabricated since they are not your typical round log toons.

They're net 100' long, weight factor...

Has nobody considered that beer and coolers can be added and placed strategically around the boat to get the CG and level right
Also contact Huba Huba for some extra hooker weight
Beer would necessitate an hourly adjustment or replenishment. :p

Figure out the difference in weight and add lead. Where will depend on how you want the boat to sit.

Not sure, it's a 1997, deteriorated toons? He told them to raise the mounting location.😜
Curious as to how much he had them raise the pontoon locations and if it couldn’t be reversed. 🤔

The amount of weight needed to lower it would be huge. I’m thinking the shape has changed also. Like round to square?

He told them to raise the mounting location at least 12", they were reinstalled in the same position.
Just think if he can get that thing hooked up, it’ll be the fastest houseboat on the lake🤣

If the mounts that were to be relocated are the mounts on the toons, they should have been lowered (to raise the toons up).

Raising the mounts on the boat decking would lower the mass.

Wondering if the mistake was the direction of the mount relocation

Either way... somebody is gonna eat shit on this fix.

Just use the tubes as large fuel tanks. Should only cost a few grand to fill them enough.

How about ballast tanks in the toons, like a submarine. You could pump water in and lower the ride, or use it to balance out an uneven ride, or pump water out to go where it’s shallow.
