It's off season so figured get some post going.

For the first time in my life I got pretty damn sick. Covid was usually a 2-3 day thing and what i thought was going to be a 2-3 days sickness became into a 3 week ordeal. Have anyone in here had pneumonia before? What did you do to help it pass? Docs gave some antibotics and said to sit around. Being the crackhead I am, its tough. Trying to go back to work and being home with two kids is driving me nuts.

CT scan was a trip.

My dad had it last year. He had to go through 4 different rounds of antibiotics and a steroid dose pack to kick it. It took him months to get even somewhat normal.

Wife had it real bad when we were kids. 16yo with a collapsed lung, and hospitalized for a month. Drain tube, the whole bit. Took her 2 months of being beat down to get back up and running. Figure at the time she was swimming with national type events. Was able to come back full in a year (and got her scholarship for college)

Wife had it 30+ years ago. Kicked her ass. Turned out that it was due to the fact that she sat under a A/C vent in the office and it was COLD!!!! So I’d say to keep warm in the cooler weather these days. She took a while to get back into feeling 100% with t he lungs and exercise. Hope that you kick it’s ass soon!!!

I’ve had it twice in both lungs at the same time. It’s your body telling you to rest. Take your antibiotics and chill out, you’ll come back around ready for business. What sucks is you get it easier again now that you’ve had it🤨

There is a bacterial strain going around. I know two people that got it recently.

Kaiser keeps tying to pump the vax for it into me, and I keep saying no.

My daughter told me to get it!

Sure hope you get better soon. 😞

This started three weeks ago. I was at the parker house with the a/c cranked and woke up not feeling right. Rushed home and been sick since. Youre probably right about the a/c lol

There are strains of pneumonia which remain incurable. I had a very good friend, since 4th grade, pass from that in 2015. She had the very best of health care.

Sorry to hear. Your point is highly valid.

My father became sick with pneumonia after playing in the World Series of poker in Vegas.

As it turns out his pneumonia was from legionella.

It is with rare exception not survivable, continues to exist despite best efforts, and continues to kill primarily in older individuals.

I had it about 12 years ago .
Kicked my ass for weeks .
I couldn’t do too much. Was hard to breathe.
It takes time to get back 100 percent.

My grandfather died of pneumonia back in the '80s. They had no idea where he might have picked up the virus.

There was once a saying, “pneumonia can be cured but a cold can not”. In some cases, that’s total BS!

I do know there are both bacterial and viral types of pneumonia. Pretty sure "rest" is help regardless of the type. The other thing, do the stupid breathing exercises, with the breathalyzer type deal if they can get you one. It forces you to take deeper breaths, and will help you see improvement.

Dude. Don’t fuck around. Real pneumonia is no fuckin joke man. “Walking pneumonia is basically a chest cold. REAL pneumonia will fuckin kill you.

Not even being dramatic. I almost died about 10 years ago. Was at work talking to the wife about what’s for dinner at around 4 pm. Started feeling fluish at 5 pm. Felt like shit on my way home. By 8 had 103 fever ice bags under arms trying to lower fever. Went to ER next morning. They say I have bad case pneumonia send me home with antibiotics. They call next morning in a panic “get back here”. Guess my cultures were off the chart. I was septic and my kidneys were shutting down. I basically don’t remember 2 weeks after that. I slept the whole time. I was off work for 2 months. When I was finally getting better about 5 weeks in, I came down with pleurisy. If you don’t know what that is, be happy you’ve never had it. It’s the mucus membrane around your lungs drying up and ripping away from your rib cage every time you breathe. Worst pain I’ve ever been in in my life. Wife stuck by my side whole time and cared for me. I lt was touch and go. At the time I was like meh, I got better. I look back at that shit and I’m lucky I made it through. For real.

I hope you get better. Take it easy, rest and get better. Ain’t worth it to push it.

My son just had it.
Started with Covid. Knarly cough. Like coughing constantly for days when he was awake. Felt terrible for him.
He dropped from 134lbs to 122.
He had to take it slow getting back to school and football practice. After missing school for 3 weeks he went back on the 4th week and only attended his core classes.
Took him 5 weeks to really start feeling good.

search up the wim hof breathing exercises. they can help significantly. you will improve slowly at first but you will improve and with continued practice improve faster.

My whole crew got sick that weekend also. 15 out of 17. I couldn't even drive home on Sunday. Another neighbor we I saw before I left got it also he said. I thought maybe covid but it kicked in within 24 hours. Took Me 2 weeks to get back to normal. I have not checked in with the rest of my family. Nobody made it back to work or school on Monday after.

Rest up a few extra days. I thought I was good and was so far behind on work I put in a 15 hour day then went back to shit the next day several times. Pushed me 2 weeks behind schedule and I am still not caught up.

Sounds kind of like the Flu I get every time I go to river, missed a few Monday Tuesdays with the parker vid!

If you're at any kind of risk for this; listen to your daughter.
This isnt like that other vaccine or the flu shot. It actually works.

Feel for ya, I've had it 7 times. Lungs get damaged after having it a few times from what the Doc said, so you are more susceptible to it. One time spent several weeks in the hospital when I was younger. I take getting sick seriously and don't f$ck around with it.

Not sure what I had. Heavy cough though for a week. Actually went to urgent care and took three days off work. It has been lingering around for week two and three. Wife picked it up on week two and daughter on week three. All three of us seem to have a lingering cough though.

I’m not the type to get sick. So this one was kind of unusual for me.

I’m sick now, started last Friday. It’s a strange one, usually I have no choice but rest. This time I was able to push on for the last 2 days, last evening it got me, bed or recliner today🤧 My sister had it & it really lingers. My husband has had of 10 + days & he rarely gets sick.

Rest up dude, your customers will understand.

It seems like there is some nasty shit going around. My family has a stomach bug going on, I just got it last night. Can’t stray far from a toilet, I’ve lost 4 pounds so far…

We are all sick here too. 3 year old is not a happy camper. Refuses to eat or drink. She may be headed to the Phoenix Children's if she doesn't change by tomorrow.

My daughter the kindergarten teacher had it last week. Now I have it. This sucks. And it's a super busy week in the lab with events planned...
