Tell her to go to one of the used llantas mexican shops there are plenty here, there is even a 24 hour one on Spring mountain by the strip
There are a few of those, always seem to do a good job with patches. When we were in Vegas I had at least 200 tires patched with the mex tire shops especially in the middle of the night when staff needed.

Discount Tire has always been my go to for a tire repair and tires. The only way they do it is to dismount tire, install a patch on the inside. They then recheck the balance.
Never been charged.
That is the only shop we used to buy tires from in Vegas and Henderson due to the client services they provided, always free repair, always had the tire protection seems like a big waste of money but well worth it if you are dealing with dozens and dozens of big dollar tires getting damaged.

Yep.

And let's not forget about how the steel belts will start to rust out, once water seeps in there as well.
Rope style plugs do the same thing....you're shoving 2 pieces (folded in half) of a rope through a hole 1/2 the size of the rope...it's gonna "mushroom" once it get through the hole and act somewhat like a patch. Add a bit of vulcanizing cement and you have what I believe to be an excellent repair. It won't ever come out if installed correctly, and the rope will fill in the voids on the coarse sides of the puncture way better IMO than a straight rubber patch plug, because it's got texture to it and because it's a rope.

So what if a few steel strands get broken....there's lots of 'em....just like folks driving around with a missing lug nut, it'll be fine due to the designed in safety factor....as long as they're sealed and don't start to corrode, you're good.

I've probably used 100 of them over the 30 years I've been playing with cars, and not a single failure. I've had plenty of tires break belts and separate with no plugs in them, but everything I've plugged has been fine. Dunno, that's a pretty good track record, but again....I have certain conditions that have to be met before I'll use one. I've also plugged a tire at a gas station near an off ramp, reinflated it, and made it 40 miles before the sidewalls blew out of that tire.....that wasn't a failure of the repair, that was a failure to properly assess the condition of the tire prior to making the repair....which I suspected would happen, but was hoping it would get me the 60 miles home....I was wrong and had to install the spare in the dark anyway.

Like said above. Mexican tire shop.
I doubt this applies but its a great Mexican tire story.... I had a nail in my truck tire for a week and I was thinking the noise was a rock thatd find its way out... came out from store to hear a hissing sound so flew home and ended up finding a remote tire fix guy. two guys on a flatbed with a compressor were at my place in 30 minutes. They yanked that wheel off and removed tire from wheel to patch the interior saying they dont do plugs ever. In Mexico we have such poor roads with pot holes so these guys do great biz. They were there for maybe 15 minutes and gone. Its been a year and smooth sailing.

i used to have a "Jose's tire" that i took stuff to for patchwork and other "questionable tire shenanigans. he would ask you want the $10 or the $20 patch. i never asked what the difference was, always went for the $20. I have seen that guy patch a sidewall a few times.

LOL, we were just talking about that.
Both girls work hard and the one in vegas travels a lot for business and goes out with clients.
No time for boys
I would buy her new car. Instead of patch tire. Just saying!
