Places to eat/hangout in key west

My wife and I are celebrating a multitude of things in key west for 4 days. What re the in places to go and eat ?

Better than Sex Dessert bar. Not better than sex, but close!
Butterfly Conservatory. It's a magical place. I felt like I was in a Harry Potter movie.
The Pirate Museum was cool, the aquarium was without.

Rent bicycles, they are easier to park than scooters. The Green Parrot is a cool bar, and have breakfast at the Southernmost Beach Cafe, have another breakfast at Blue Heaven.

Jeff likes the Garden of Eden bar.

Too long ago to remember.

It was right on the beach on the east side, right by a little jetty. Food wasn't bad at all, but that's all I remember about it!

Duvall street has lots of cool bars, sloppy joes, irish kevins, but go across the street from them to ricks tree house, go to the back and the listen to the Dirtbags band, its a good time,

lol. I’ve written this so many times. But I’ll do it again. Because we fuckin LOVE key west. Looked into buying a place there actually.

Our tour is more of a drinking experience, soooo

Anyway. Go see the durt bags play at durty Harry’s. They are awesome. And play most nights.

And when you’re good and drunk order a large pizza from Angelina’s an hour before you leave. It takes an hour when they’re busy. Go over to Irish Kevin’s and what one of the guitarist up on stage do sing along songs and interact with the audience. Super fun.

Grab a sloppy Joe from sloppy joes. They claim to have invented them.

Go to the Louie’s backyard at sunset and sit on the deck to watch the sunset while having a cocktail.

Get breakfast at blue heaven. Also as stated above Pepe’s is great too.

Get stone crab from half shell raw bar. Fuckin amazing and nice to sit right at the harbor. Skip the conch republic, it’s shit. But do go sit outside at Alonzo’s A&B bar and get oysters, stone crab and probably the best buffalo shrimp I’ve ever had. And wash that shit down with plenty of key lime martinis. FUUUUUH amazing.

I alway recommend stepping into the 801 bar. Drag bar. Go see a drag show upstairs. Lots of fun. The bar downstairs is actually pretty chill and fantastic people watching. Stay out of the back bar.

Swing by the bull. Roof bar is clothing optional. Usually not the people you want to see nude though.

Rent a scooter or cart for half a day and ride around the island. Check shit out. But if you’re staying anywhere near duval you can walk everywhere you need to go.

If you REALLY want to do something cool, rent the sea plane to take you to fort Zachery Taylor. Actually fuckin amazing.

Theres other cool stuff like sea doing or kayaking through mangroves. Very cool.

There’s an ok sushi place called miso happy. Lobster roll at DJ clam shack. And across from that is Pho King Awesome. Insane pho place.

Pretty much sums it up. Shit load of bars along
Duvall. They’re all fun. You won’t be bored there. That’s for sure.

Stone crab from Alonzo's is the BEST! I really enjoy Bahama Village and the food is good at Blue Heaven. Louie's Backyard as mentioned too. I feel fortunate to have family that lived in Key West, as we would vacation there frequently during those times. I miss it and can't wait to go back!

Drag show? And you don’t need to fly to Fort Zachary Taylor, it’s right at the end of Key West. You must be thinking of the Dry Tortugas and that is definitely worth the trip whether it’s by boat or plane but not this time of year.

All depends on the dates. Fantasy Fest going on right now 18th-27th, super busy and lots of traffic. Race World Offshore's Key West Championships, Nov 6-10, 2024 and that’s going on too. If you like bar hopping, Duval Street is fun at night. Lots of fun places… my favorite bars are Hogs Breath Saloon, Sloppy Joe’s, Flying Monkey Bar and Island Dogs Bar. The Sunset pier is fun with live music and if you want to watch the sunset. if you like history the Truman waterfront Park is beautiful and so is Fort Zachary Taylor.

Drag show? And you don’t need to fly to Fort Zachary Taylor, it’s right at the end of Key West. You must be thinking of the Dry Tortugas and that is definitely worth the trip whether it’s by boat or plane but not this time of year.

All good recommendations here but if you decide to do a sunset cruise, my favorite is Danger Charters over at the end of Front Street. Bagatelle’s on Duval St is very good eats as well.
