Looks like they realized their mistake on charging for parking reducing overall traffic to the restaurant/bar.

lol. NO personal food or beverages on a beach you park on. For that reason Im out
Plenty of nice beaches with clear water than their murky water and their food sux. For that reason I'm out.
Hahahahah, I feel the same as most though we have always consumed ice cold beverages and eats on the beach in front of the bar without an issue.

The beach fee has kept us away from the start F-em for even considering a parking fee and the increasing it annually.

We'll still take newbs to PC and they all love the 1/2 mile walk to their store when it's 115deg.

That’s on the cove beach and it’s always been like that. We had a work party there once and they came and told us we had to be below the high water mark to drink our own beers.

We waddled our fat asses next to our boats and kept drinking and they didn’t say another word 😂🤷🏻‍♂️

I’d still go park there after they started charging, and out of all the times I’ve been, I was asked twice to pay 35 bucks. I ended up leaving both times and I could never figure out if I was showing them a thing or two, or I was a cheap fuck for not paying 35 bucks to park my old ass $160,000 boat on their beach. 🤷🏻‍♂️

cove beach, northside whatever. If I cant step off my boat with any type of food or beverage Im not going. I have eaten there, drank there, spent hundreds in one day. I just wont anymore.
Ive heard from a few people that they do actually enforce it. I do understand its a business as well.

Is 'no beach fee' for the northside beach? North being across the channel from restaurant. The $35 daily groomed sand

Is there anything from stopping anybody from throwing out an anchor close to shore and being below the highwater mark in the boat? I'm pretty sure there is nothing they can do about that right?

Your boat is stunning. I don't feel that way about many of them.

This reminds me of a sushi restaurant up here that decided adding 22% to the bill in place of tips was a good idea. They lost their customers and severs and are going to be closing up if they even make it to the end of their lease. Owner tried to backtrack , but the damage was done. The economy is failing in this county and to shoot yourself in the foot like this is comical to say the least. Will just be another abandoned storefront in Arcata soon.

The boat isn’t the issue. They want your body below the high water line while you’re drinking your beer.

Same Q as others, does that mean we can park in their channel now without fees (I guess that's the "north side")? The map on their website calls the area next to the restaurant "Beach" and the north side "Peninsula." Regardless, I use the courtesy slips to grab a bite without any problems, never saw more than a boat or two there. I begrudgingly paid $5 back in the day to chill in their channel but haven't been back to their channel since the price went north of $5...

I don’t understand the attraction to the place but sounds like it’s lost it’s allure with a few of you. No way am I paying to rent a piece of sand to hang out there when there’s miles of beaches that are much nicer and natural.

The beach fee is the reason we didn't go while in the area for our annual Desert Storm/Havasu trip. We cruised by to look, then went to Topock 66.

Did that at 3 Dunes
Ranger came by to collect the fee .
Got in the boat and anchored out 30 ft .
Said I couldn’t do that . I yelled back , I just did .

Yeah, that's even hard to enforce, if someone has dietary restrictions that they can't accommodate 100% they can't say shit

That’s nice news. I didn’t have an issue paying the fee to be honest.

The allure is the ride up is nice. Cooler, scenic.
Then a no current no wake beach is the kicker.

We went to Pirate Cove in mid March 2023 on our sea doos. The place was completely empty. We figured there was no way they would charge us for parking since we went to eat lunch and have some drinks. We parked our two sea doos on the beach, walked towards the restaurant and sure enough here comes Wilbur to tells us we need to fork out $70 to park on the beach. We said no thank you and told Wilbur that we were going to go spend our money at Topock. That guy had to feel stupid as fuck to send his only customers down river.

I have seen this flyer posted around FB the last few days.

1.) This only applies to the beach on the restaurant side and the cove.

2.) The rules have always been no outside food or drink on that side but free to drink your own booze in the water or in your boat.

3.) The fact that they started charging for parking over there, on top of their overpriced and underwhelming food, is ludicrous.

4.) They need to allow free parking on the other side with receipt from bar/grill.

5.) We like Pirates and beach opposite of the restaurant, often. Can't remember the last time we paid. Think it depends on the day of the week you are there or if it is a holiday weekend.

I have been twice this year and never asked for money to park. I actually thought the food and service was some of the best it has ever been.

I can imagine the north beach will be packed going forward from now on. I'm sure they are trying to attract more business. Isn't there a shuttle of sorts to bring people back and fourth to the restaurant from the north beach?

Last time I was in there it was chaotic. Cruised in an SB Sherif was stopping people at random in the channel. Got to the restaurant and new we wouldn't get served for an hour so decided to leave…just a bad vibe. On the way out the sherif was still at it…that was two years ago. Just don't bother going in there anymore.

What does it take to get them to answer the phone for peninsula reservations?

Last Spring we were out there staying in one of the cabins that ended up burning down. We grabbed a few beers and walked down towards the restaurant to check out some of the hardware that was there for Spring Meetup. First security guy told us we couldn't have our beers in front of the restaurant. I told him we didn't have beers, we had water in our cans with koozies. Got a nod and a smile... We proceeded to walk along the beach until Barnie Fife showed up. He was all fired up about it. My buddy politely told him to go fuck himself, so he ran to the two sheriff officers who were there for the event. As he pointed to the signs they have placed on the shoreline, one of the officers said, that doesn't mean anything. They are using a fake penal code on the signs :D we finished our drinks as Barnie stormed off, probably to go beat his wife.

Anyway, we don't stop there often, but when we have, I've never had to pay. I really only go in there if the girls want a bucket, or if there's a lot of nice hardware to see.

Some of you are assuming this is only the restaurant beach and I believe you’re incorrect. It says “our daily groomed beach” which they groom the whole thing pretty much every day and they refer to the “restaurant beach” with no outside food/drink.

We parked there for a few hours this past weekend. Nobody asked for money 🤷🏻‍♂️ I believe they have gotten rid of the fee all together.

If I want to drink my own drinks and eat my own food I find a beach on the river or one of the 50 hidden coves on the river.

If I pull into a bar’s dock/beach I am planning on using their services. I still think they should charge $50 to park and treat it as a voucher at the bar/restaurant.

I know that back in the day Moabi was a different vibe but that’s come and gone by almost 20 years. If you want a free spot to eat, drink and be social there are a bunch between Windsor and Topock.

My wife called Monday to ask a few questions and it sounds like there's no one in the office Mon. and Tues.

Before you guys go hating too much, remember Pirates is keeping the people you don't want on your beach contained in theirs 🤣🤣🤣
No shit. Not to mention the people that hangout at Pirates are pretty fucking hard on the eyes.

Well I met some friends down at Pirate Cove Wednesday and it's true the beach fee is no longer. However, they forgot the cheese on my $22 Western Burger

I wish they would close down both places and that way all the weekend warriors will stop going up river.

Yes, Im old and miss the days of actually being able to float down river. Now its the 405 Freeway!

The second week of November is wide open. Especially week days.
Weekend warriors wouldn't know this.

I wouldn't have a problem paying it if they gave you a voucher for that amount to spend at the bar.
Better parking if you want to spend money there.
