It's going to take me a bit to get the article online because I have three to write today, but I figured I'd start uploading pics for everyone.

In the meantime RANGER NATION takes first place to the first card stop in the Poker Run! (No shit.. I about fell over when this 900 crew stock came rolling up first.. I was like WTF?)

Jimmy, that back up was nothing.. I thought we were like 21 miles away from Pirates.. As it turns out we were only 5 miles or so away and there was 203 cars! It ended up getting backed up across the road, over that hill and off to the left for a 1/2 - 3/4 of a mile!

I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about it just screams this guy is a bad ass..

I couldn't quite figure this guys deal out.


He had a giant deal on his hood, and when I asked what it was he said "kill switch." Is that really what it is?



Never seen one of these before? It was freaking ginormous!

You gotta give it up to the kid running it in a newer F150.. Bigger Balls than I got. LOL


I"m infatuated with these Yamaha 1000's.. I don't think I'd buy one over the new Can Am X3 or even the Thousand Turbo, but I just love the idea that you can shift them.



They even had a couple real deal race trucks in this thing.





This thing was a freakin beast.. I love it!

It's easy to see though that even with the wait the participants were in good spirits.



So now we get to some of the line..



Do you know that "Holy Shit" feeling you just had after seeing the last 2 pics? X100 and add a feeling of "defeat" mixed in and that's about how I felt when I saw it. LOL We had been working the card stop for quite sometime at this point.

This thing was pretty bad ass. The extra screen on the left is the EFI management. It had a turbo snowmobile motor in it that made some crazy amount of power. It sounded crazy.

This was kind of a cool site. Couple of young girls pulled up in this jeep, and there was a dude in the back. Seems pretty legit while other chicks are out protesting because.. Well I'm not even sure why they knew why they were protesting, but that's aside the point.

As I was appointed clipboard cowboy, I had the opportunity to chat with EVERY participant. All involved were super upbeat, happy as hell to be taking part in the event. The weather was fantastic, and the trail was in awesome condition as well.

What a cool way to spend a Saturday.

These guys showed up about an hour after everybody else. LOL We had already torn down half the card stop and were getting ready to run the course ourselves!

That was the only stop that was backed up. Everyone spread out after that. It really was a good time.

Had a great time.
RDP was at mile marker 18 of the course. Once you got past card stop 1 everyone was able to spread out and most took breaks after that stop and the run was much nicer.

The Yamaha is the most turn key unit. As far as needing a ton of aftermarket stuff. Cough cough polaris

It wasnt that bad, keep in mind this was the 1st card stop and the stop came up right after crossing the 95. So you had to wait your turn and deal with traffic on the highway. The other stops went pretty quick.

RDs kids are self propelled and really helpful. Sierra has Stacy's finesse and talk, and thinks it through like RD.
We didn't have toilets at card stop # 1. Girls in the poker run were asking to use the bathroom in my RV. Sure.
Sierra is to lightweight to flush the foot pedal toilet and would wait for a mom to come in and help her.
The moms got a kick outta that.

Holy Shit Balls, I can't stop looking at all the cool rides and who ever came up with the idea for this event is AWESOME!!!! Not really into the dirt, after the misses ended up in the ER with a broken neck in Pismo Beach from flipping her quad, a full roll cage side by side or some other 4x4 (possibly vintage??) would be a blast and necessary!!!!!

Would this be allowed ???

That would make for a long ass day by you could do it.. Not sure I'd want to scratch the paint though

Pirates works for me in the winter. Excellent camping and off roading. I heard the summer months it's slammed but a nice boating situation.
Those haibusa (sp?) Rhinos are amazing hill shooters. Very quick.
