Get home from taking a kid into town for an appointment. Neighbor calls me up, "What happened to the fence on your southeast corner?"
Uhh, excuse me?

So, I wander out to the corner. Someone with a 10 wheeler clipped my fence making the turn onto the dirt road beside my house. More than clipped, flat out fukt it up!

4x4 steel post, pulled out of the ground and folded over. No way in hell they didn't notice it. It just so happens, Tuesday mornings there is a trash truck that grabs some dumpsters up the way.

The hierarchy of CDL's is pretty well known up here. Start at the school district, because they pay for training. From there, trash trucks, then mixers, end dumps then hopefully on the better company work or deliveries.
It's also common for mixer guys to back into something, or tip one over, and be demoted to trash truck again.

Asshole got me. No video, and didn't hear it...may not have been home, and it's also a 150-200 yards from the house. Good thing I don't have horses anymore, and the dogs were inside.

Dug through my crap, drug a gate out there, and got creative. One steel post was intact, as there was an 8ft gate there. Positioned one end of a spare 12ft gate against the metal post, and shortend the opposing fence. The dog-eared the corner, so hopefully it won't happen again. Not what I wanted to do before dinner, but at least it's kind of done for now.

And the POS didn't have the decency to leave a note at your door, mailbox or scene of the crime.
Hopefully it drug a fuel line off and you can track him by the fuel leak.

We don’t have those rural problems down here in the city😁

You need a few game cameras. 😉

They hit cars and posts in the city, and run people off the roads on the highways. It's a lack of skills and class, not the location. I know the mechanic at the yard. Small Town advantage. Going to have him check the guys truck that has this route. Guessing it will have a dent in the fuel or hydraulic tanks. Also find out about the driver. If the guy's had issues and is an asshole, or if the guy is a hustler and just made a mistake(2 actually). I don't know...calmed down a bit now.

I shouldn’t have one. I should have been born a trust fund baby, and chillin on a yacht in the Mediterranean Sea. But no, thanks dad. Fuck. View attachment 1458721
If my situation were different, I wouldn't mind it at all. I love driving, well, through flyover states. I'm usually ok with not being a trust fund baby. Learned a lot more I think. At times though, the money does seem like a fair trade 🤔

This happened at work a few years back. The catering company put a new kid in the driver's seat of one their trucks and needless to say, he didn't navigate this corner correctly 🙄
He hit our Honeywaggon and unfortunately took it out of service for about 4 months.
People like this make me feel like I'm operating on a genius level 😏

Yea it sucks but you may be the only guy here that has “spare parts” laying around for such an incident. 😂
This was the old gate from when we bought the place. Flush with the front fence, and only 12ft. I pushed the gate in, and hung 2 10ft gates instead. Was running 2 good size goosenecks at the time, and made it easier. Here it is on a snow day a few years ago.

Yes, it's a 6 horse head to head. Got it from one of my friend's daughters years ago. The front is a big tack room and changing area. It came with a lot of show tack and prize saddles. Have someone coming to look at it next week. The couple that bought all our fence panels and stalls. Thought about turning it into the super-size mobile setup for repair work. It's freaking heavy empty, with stuff in it it would be a bear. With the axle placement, it requires semi truck turning room too. So, between those things, and needing a stout truck to move it, I figure it's better off being rehomed...that, and no horses anymore.

Damn the axles are way back on it. Must be crazy tongue weight when loaded.

With just tack, no horses, it squated my old 3500 Dodge a fair bit. The guy that owned it, brought out all 9 of his horses in it, made chain stalls between the existing gates. He pulled this thing from Indiana behind an 86 F350...a 6.9 with a Banks kit. He said it was slow, but they all got here in '91.

I work for generator rental company and we had an Argosy for awhile. Had a big HP Cummins in it and you could stand up inside the cab, it was bad ass😏
I was trying to attach myself to it but California decided it wasn't compliant anymore so down the road it went 😒

Twins Custom Concepts built a super badass condo hauler. I saw the rendering in their office, years before they built it. Their father, IIRC, was a trucker when they were young. They had it at SEMA 10 or so years ago.

That thing is bad ass but you're gonna need to do some online scouting on Google maps before you head anywhere with that wheelbase pulling a trailer 😉

The thing is a toterhome from hell. The layout was somewhat of a tri-level. Behind the seats and I think up a step or two was a lounge area, then down a few steps to an area that had a kitchenette and bath...then circling forward, and below frame level, where the king size bed was laid atop the frame area, under the lounge. The motor and trans were pushed to the rear, below the bath area. It wouldn't be too harsh to drive, kind of like a short diesel pusher. Even overlength stuff isn't too bad...once you get out of the city.
