Brett from B Blades asked me to put this up for him, as he's really trying to get his props back or made whole somehow. Does anyone know Paul Owens in San Tan Valley?

I'm not going to cut and paste the entire story on here.. It's on OSO if you want to read every detail.. Short version is the guy used their test program to get a prop. He asked for a 24, B Blades accidentally sent him a 26.. They apologized and sent him a 24 as well.

Well you already know where this is going, he didn't return the 26... He didn't return the 24. He accidentally hit something with one of them, and wanted to return it, they said basically "you bought it if you damaged it" He said he'd send both back.. Never did. Communication stops, credit card is now cancelled.

BBlades got a hold of him on FB messenger once, and then the guy vanished and they haven't been able to get a hold of him since.

Brett is so pissed off about it he's ready to stop the testing program all together!! His testing program is really nice where you can test props for a couple weeks for 55.00.. My primary interest in him getting his props back is so that he doesn't cancel the testing program, and I think being this guy is in AZ someone on here knows this prick and can make him at least send the two props back that he has.

Anyone know this guy Paul Owens of San Tan Valley AZ?

Pic of the damaged prop that he never returned as well. At this point I think Brett would be happy to get anything back.. (Both props)

That’s shitty.

Keep the testing program, just change it up so the customer has to buy the prop, then has a 1 month return policy
With a $55 restocking fee, so if shit like happens, everything is covered.

Has BBlades contacted the whatever the law enforcement agency that is responsible for San Tan Valley, AZ? Local Sheriff Department? That would be a place to start.

That's how I would do it as well.. If you can't afford the prop up front you shouldn't be testing them kinda deal.. LOL

The only problem is the CC companies will often reverse charges per customers request if you run into a crook like this guy is that's still a way to do it.. Although it would cut down on it a bit.

I suggested that to him on the phone as well. I know certain parts of AZ have really tough check bouncing laws, etc.. that cover things like this.

I would also have a policy of charging full amount on the customer’s credit card and credit back the price of the prop returned, only if that particular prop was returned in perfect (as new, Undamaged, in the original packaging), shipped prepaid to the seller within 30 days of the original date of purchase. I would also contact the issuer of the credit card in writing explaining the situation fully. That damage to the prop certainly is not “Shipping Damage.”

I'm surprised this isn't already in place with some sort of deposit run up on a card, return the prop, get your deposit back done.

He may want to give Bergeron a call in case he tries to bring them into his shop, he might try to sell them at Props Plus too...I will put the word out to all the East Valley boating people I know, chances are he takes his boat to Canyon or Saguaro. Any idea what kind of boat he has?

I’d have to ask a Brett.. For some reason I think it was a Baja or something but can’t remember.

Did the check bounce due to no money or due to payment cancelled?

This is so dumd, I know US is big, bit so is the community. And just like here the Word spreads fast, the guy just ruins it for himself. No one will ever want to help him out or have anything to do with him. Just stand up and make right for yourself!

Look at the spoon on the ground with all the soot residue! Looks like he's a real out standing citizen.
Remember boys and girls before taking a pic put all your drug paraphernalia away.

This could just be a name coincidence!! 'Searching additional info found inside the following link regarding a guy named Paul Owens of San Tan Valley, AZ 85140 seems to not lead to any further info then what's written within, it seems as if he may had been an owner of a auto repair shop called GOOD GUYS TIRE & AUTO REPAIR L.L.C. that ended somewhere after 4/18/2016.

If you were truly observant, you would notice the picture is inverted.
There is a gender specific way to know this. That's your only clue.

I wasn't gonna say anything here, but . BB is to blame here...they tried to be nice and varied from business policy... they should have said... Ill send a call tag and have the prop shipped back, as soon as we get it ,and it is as new as sent , we will send out the other one..BB can contest the CC purchase as there is no proof that he sent the props back... I had this fuck come in and get duals on his mustang... he requested that I put the old turbo mufflers back in the flowmaster box's and put them in the trunk...a few days later I get a reg. letter stating that he was very unhappy with the sound of the flowmasters, and wanted a refund....about a week goes by, and I get a charge back to my account... wtf...couple days later..I get the old turbo's ,in the flowmaster boxes UPS...I contest the charge back.... receipt says FLOWMASTER DUALS...CC comp. says, he sent back the two flowmasters and took a pic of them before he sent them...CC says,... we know what he did and too hard to prove... but beings that you have been with us for 20 plus years, and not one charge back... we are gonna give you the money...also, stated that his CC was gonna get shut down... F'n crooks with cards....

Wouldn't BBlades have the address of the guy in question for shipping the props out? Probably easiest to call local PD and say that Mr. Owens is in possession of stolen property at XXXXX address
problem here is... it's not stolen property, they gave him the props... contract dispute, gotta take him to court... I would just take my hicky and move on..when stuff like this happens you get experience , experience is what you get when you don't get what you want...and further... better hope this guy don't have money, he could drag everyone here into a class action slander suit.... could end up owning BB props and a fat stack of cash...

I spoke with Brett earlier this summer about getting a new prop as I switched to a shorter lower. He could not have been more helpful and honest. In the end we decided as I’m hoping to get a new motor this winter to just wait and get a prop then. This totally sucks. I live in Texas so there isn’t shit I can do but it totally sucks for him to be taken advantage of in this way.

First rule of business, do not trust a soul.

Sad, but assholes like this ruin things for everyone......

Now to handle a guy like the culprit, find the Baja and take a fully charged drill equipped with a 3-4" hole saw, crawl underneath and drill until the battery dies......Next trip out, ol' Paulie boy best hope the bilge pump is working. Just a thought.

He probably has insurance and would come out even better on the other side.

I wouldn't go thru a credit card in this dealio and go thru that mess if the customer closes the account. Pay full price in cash up front, when returned, full refund, damaged, take it out of the full deposit of the prop!

An individual can't be a class action. And suing for liable for posts on a website like this is laughable.

I agree that BB's practice of loaning a prop for $55 is not a wise decision. However, you cannot say they are to blame. They are not the ones that made a conscious decision to defraud a company out of over $1k worth of product.

Thats like saying a jewlery store is to blame when someone steals a ring when they tried it it on and just ran out the door.

It would be a liable suit, not Slander... and to win you would have to prove factually that what was said was false (which it's all true), and then you have to prove monetary damages.

I'm pretty well versed in that shit, because I get threatened with it literally once or twice a month.

BBlades is back in Wisconsin and deals with customers all over the country.. How do you pay cash up front?

The B Blades prop program is awesome and unique. It would be a shame for this program to go away as it really is a great resource for testing props. I hope this guy does the right thing.

Kevin @ R&R Prop Shop does a variation of this as well...but like lbhsbz suggested. You buy the prop and if you don't like it, you can swap for something else (assuming no damage) at full credit or he can tweak it for you.

I do believe Ron Hill does this as well. Or maybe its just for people he knows?
