Was going to launch at Bluewater today... forgot my 2019 tags again.
Am I asking for trouble boating up there today?

Don’t drink and expect to get a ticket for not having them. Other than that should be fine.

We were there last year with expired tags, they were paid but AZ screwed up and sent them to an incorrect address. We had the paperwork but not the stickers so I motioned the sheriff over when we saw them, explained, and all was good.

I left the paperwork and tags at home... again.
I figured it would get me stopped. But I’m not up for a $150 failure to display.

I paid that, the check is in the mail or I wont cum in your mouth don't work for the honest man. Leave it on the trailer before you are told to.

You could check with the ranger at the ramp before you put it in the water. They should be able to tell you if your going to have trouble or not.

So... we’re Parker bound. Boat staying anchored on the midlower river. Hopping on a friends boat.
Which means, I’m getting hammered.

Are there any good spots for rock/cliff jumping up there?

If your tags are year out a date then you’re probably gonna have a problem but if there a month or two or three I don’t think you’re gonna have much of a problem I never have

Well uhhhh... in CA they go every two years. 2017 on there now. 2019 is what the new ones say.
Ahh. This is a boat you have owned for a bit. For some reason I was under the impression it was a new purchase and you were worried about reg. I have kept the printed reg paperwork from DMV on the boat in the same situation without current tags and had no issues.

You don't want to kill a member in good standing. Save those cliffs for Grads. ;)
Yep. We quit jumping rocks years ago. Ranger came by and mentioned they were already looking for 1 body and to please stop jumping. Xavier was his name he jumped and legs sunk into the mud and he drowned. The rock jump at end of our Park has a VW size boulder to the left I have scuba dived there to check it out.

Not the top where the memorial is, the one just next to the beach. There's a baby jump and a big boy jump and a nice sandy bottom. That was always our first stop after a Black Gorilla at RR.

Does anyone have access to your house. Have them come over tell them where they are at and take a picture of it, then send it to you. You could print it out and have it available . Something is better than nothing .

Rabbit Rock (island just up river from Echo), the spot Nick mentioned at the north end of Echo Lodge, Idiot Rock (just north of Sundance), and the cliffs across from Bluewater. Have jumped them all when I was younger. Now that I am older... Spine wishes I hadn't!

Thanks for the responses everyone.
Left the boat down river, drove up and got in with some friends. Holy hell was it windy. Between the traffic and the wind it was rough, but we didnt let that stop a good time.
I back flopped off a rope swing. Jumped the rabbit rocks a bunch of times and some smaller ones. Didnt get a chance at the ones accross from bluewater. Next time.

Someone said the taller of those rocks is 28'? Google earth isnt giving me a staright answer. What is the one in copper canyon? I'm told it is higher, but this one sure seemed like it had a few feet at least.

Oh... never saw a single patrol boat, I would have been Ok. In light of the wind and water condition though, I'm glad I sat it out.

You should be fine as long as you're not doing anything stupid or calling out for attention. My tags were 3 years old (paid but not on since I boat in Cali and AZ) and a cop in the channel, while the boat was beached, asked me about them. I talked to him respectfully and explained the situation that its paid and that I am the owner ....so forth and so on.......and he said ok, just make sure there on the next time. Long story short, be respectful if asked by the PD and don't ask for any attention by being drunk and out of control or such........and you'll be just fine. Just my experience and my .02

You should be fine. I run with no CFs all the time and have a dealer plate in my windshield. Can’t see the dealer plate through window tint. Gone by patrol plenty of times and they have never stopped me.

Different rock. Rabbit Rock is in the little cove between Big Bend and Echo on the CA side. Idiot Rock is just above Sundance on the AZ side.

Dozens of people have died jumping from Idiot Rock. Mostly drownings. No one's died from Rabbit Rock, but a Marine (Hoo-Rah) died jumping from the top of the sheer cliff just above Echo.

Thanks

Is that the tall one between echo and big bend that has or had a cross at the top?

We used to jump off the ones at big bend as kids
