anybody have a map of the strip as far as shallow and safe water for a deep v cruiser. I am going in October and staying at the sand bar at red rock. I went to the strip for years (1960-1990) but have not been in awhile. I can read water but with the way that river flows sometimes it can be tricky. From others I have talked to alot of the shallows have moved! I don't want to donate a prop for the hard find. Any educated advice would be appreciated. Thanks M

No map, but anywhere past road runner is safe. At the turn in between fox's and roadrunner stay to the Ca side of the river as it gets shallow at the turn. When the water is up its ok to not go so far to the Ca side. There is nothing to worry about for the most part until you get past castle rock, there is the rock island at the turn, which had been there forever. The only other spot to worry about it past that it gets a bit shallow till you can see the dam.

Besides the map and other advice here, talk to the owners at the Sandbar, Jason and Donielle. Depending on who's there that weekend, maybe you can get a ride along or follow someone one time. The one turn mentioned just below Foxs and Sandbar is perhaps one of the most deceptive areas since it's so wide there. Further up towards the dam there are some spots that can be shallow pretty far out as well. Sometimes you see people standing pretty far from the shore.

I would be happy to point out the trouble spots, but I am all the way down by Badenochs.

Thats funny . Was it fully capped ? I wish I kept it . All it needed was a wood inlay floor .

yes it was capped. It ran really well on the water. It was really qwik and after I played with the engine ran 84 mph. Seems like alot of people had history with that boat. I sold it to a guy that was going to take it to Az. But when I had it It was carpet, I could have put it on a diet but did not want the boat anymore. M

It's a temporary closure. Some enviro nut group got it closed to protect some endangered fish. It's called the blue veined trouser trout I believe...
