Great pics!! I want to go
Where is that ? Looks really cool .
Riverboat captain Tommy Kinders used the cave to store dry goods and anchored his river boat out front Tommy also started Riverland that originally was named Kinders Kamp or Tommy Kinders . The cave with the old door is easy to find on city streets on the Arizona side and is for sale the second is a private residence with a 3 story house above it . Both caves started out as one but now are on separate parcels .
That's bad ass. What were the temps down there?
Great pics!! I want to go
Is that Daryl sucking down a brew? Oh, and please grab me that Hamms sign...
Wheeler I would like to check it out as well!
I'm not that old. My parents brought me over on the ferry.
I imagine that Sky Skier came by covered wagon.

A little trivia. The US gave people federal patented mining claims in order to store supplies in old mines in case of nuke attack. So a lot of old mines are set up as "bomb" shelters.
I need to go to his neighborhood this weekend. I'll ask him if you can stop by for a look.
You can still get those by the way!
True.. But in the 1950's a lot of the patented claims was so the fed could use the mines for shelters.
Wasn’t aware of that. My father in law keeps telling me to go file a mining claim on some of the BLM Land out here. I don’t remember how many acres you get but it’s a nice piece and it’s free if you are willing to jump through hoops to get it.
Its a crazy system. But the FIL is right. The reason though gold rush does mostly the Yukon now. Is here you need to work the claim to keep it.
My parents bought there in Marina View from Betty Hunter in the early 70s, in fact our old trailer is one of the last original trailers there. Betty and Doug lived in the double wide across the street (now gone) that has the entrance to the cave with the old gate. Place is amazing, when it's triple digits outside it's nice and cool in there. Guy drinking the beer, in the other end of the cave, is my old partner with a house next to the cave, he's still there.
Thanks for chiming in!
I keep looking for you at the village. Were you here over Thanksgiving?
Thanks
I was there for 4 days the week before and then we were about out the door for Thanksgiving but my wife fell and fucked up her shoulder pretty good so instead of the river we went to emergency. She hurt it at the annual Thanksgiving day kick ball game. That will be her last.
