Parker boat races 3/18-19

Driving out for a solo mission this weekend. Never been to Parker, AZ. The website says K Boats will be there, one of my favorites. Posting up in a hotel Saturday and Sunday nights, then to Sky Harbor to kick up the wifey.

Looking at the map, there is Bluewater near La Paz Park and then the chain hotels in Parker. I’m a simple guy, don’t need much. Is the Bluewater OK or just play it safe and stay at the Hampton?

You will probably be fine @ the blue water though i haven't stayed there since I got married 19 yrs ago...

stop by the SE29 pit and say hello. While we all love the k boats the SE class puts on a really good show too, very tight racing there.

I'd pass on Bluewater if it was me.

The stories I've heard are just nasty.

Plus if you're a non smoker, hard pass for sure. The whole place smells like an ash tray.

The weather looks good starting tomorrow although partly cloudy for the next 5+ days anyway. Highs in the mid 70's.

We will be in the cottages at Emerald. We will likely drive up to Bullfrog BLM Day use and place chairs on the beach there to watch for a while anyway.

This race course starts and turns at Pirates, goes upriver and turns just below Fox's.

We still plan on boating we will just have to see how the race crew manages the Rec. Boaters like us.

Most importantly all racers remain safe.

Safety boats at both ends. They let traffic through periodically between runs/heats.

Watching these races from your boat sucks. Done it several times but now well drive somewhere to watch.

The Blue Hairs at Pirates and La Paz just hate the race crowd so on the CA side seems best.

They wanted @rivermobster to safety boat at the last drags. He's done it before but its a long aggressive day.

On thing is for certain the Parker Strip just does not have an off season any longer.

The pits is a great place to watch all the racing action and see all the boats up close, meet the racers and hear the announcers descriptions etc. Stop by our pit and say high.
Test and tune starts friday from abt. Noon to 5pm. Racing Sat/sun.

My apologies for the thread-jack but......has there been any news or recent developments in the 2023 Long Beach Marine Stadium August circle boat races? Is the Stadium dead for good or is there a chance we might see some racing there later this summer?

That's Jonathom Camero in the SE420 boat. He's anither rookie in the class and a really nice guy. His Starfire is a cool little boat. Fixed cav. Plates like the crackers. If I recall correctly he bought that boat out of Washington last year..
He's making a good effort with so far..

We tried to watch the drags from there (II) a few weeks ago and the Karen of a manager asked us to leave. It was a Sunday and NO ONE was on the beach. Saw 1 owner in the whole park. Most unfriendly place I've ever been from Lake Powell to Blythe.
