Stand up life lol I swear I use this more than my boat. Daughters off to college Sunday wife not as interested in boat I’m almost thinking selling the boat getting a new superjet but then again think boat is nice here and there. Keeping it simple or changing it up. I still love to single ski if I get a driver to pull me in boat.

I was going to go buy a new superjet Tuesday. But I am overwhelmed. Trying to keep the materials flowing for 13 guys last few days and work myself. Makes for some long days. It's on my to do list. But customers are the priority.

I want one just for the simplicity and ability to go alone. I'm a skier at heart but can't find people to go very often.

Last week while the wife and I were at the Parker house we took the ski's out becuase the water was so low. The next day out we took the boat to Havasu. Any day on the skis is a good day. It's a different kind of fun.

Been riding Parker since 1973.
Me and a friend that rode prototypes for Kawasaki, at the lagoon in Carlsbad, bought a couple crashed ones and took them to the River that year.
People were waving us down to see them!

Me and my brother at Red Rock last year.
At 250lbs I can still carve it up a bit.
Muscle memory all comes back at over 50 years on these things!😂😂

Right on I know Rolf. I raced flats for a bit 006 and 004 boats.

I also have a 94 550 too it’s my daughters but she leaves for college on Sunday so it will be my new spare. Get ace performance mild porting and a couple other add ins be a great ski next year.

Very cool!
Rolf rides nearly every Saturday during the summer down in Mission Bay.
I built him an engine and did a little pump work on one of the Skiis.
Just did what I used to do in the early eighties in terms of porting added an aluminum flywheel and impeller and she runs right at 50mph.
He still a solid rider. He ran the westcoast races with us in the early eighties when my Rider Doug Silverstein and I won 3 straight National High Points.
Once in a while Rolf would outrun him!
In the dragboat racing, he did pretty well with the old Litchfield I built him runnin against all the jets in the 10.00 class.
I was super proud of him.
We actually did a side by side at Ming when I had a ride in a Hondo.
Pretty cool!

My old boat number from 2003 with the old Hondo. Used it when I raced this ski too. View attachment 1414462
A little off topic here…
My first pass at Ming was in 1975.
Ran there from 1988 to 1999 with the NJBA.
Won a couple High Points and had a lot of fun.
Being around the sport since the hey days in the 70’s, I was well aware of all the 006/Hot Damn Hondos beginning with the Injected straight deck to the UBG boat with the Landy Dodge that Mike drove that was converted to BFF and Driven by Sonny Jones.
To my recollection they built one more boat specifically for BFF and painted it to match the earlier “Halloween” colored boat.
I remember your 006 boat I think from before you owned it.
Does it have any lineage to the boats I remember or was it at some point built and numbered/named for the original ones?
I remember the first black/orange one went back east and was for sale 19 or so years ago.
Appreciate the feedback.

my old boss jim fulgham bought it in 2001 or so.He wanted to race it and put the name and number to the original HDH boat had no relation to the original.jeff luering bought it then sold it and bought it back was in new mexico.Last i heard it was in az but bottom was delaminating not sure if they got it fixed or not.

it was the heavier lay up and a good driving boat though

Dropped the boat in at the Big River park today. It’s the only part of the river I haven’t been on from Davis to Imperial dams. Wholly shit is that part of the river sketchy.

Shallow, boulders and tree stumps all over the place. Surprisingly a fair amount of wake board boats. Beautiful stretch of the river and some amazing houses.

We were about a mile or so from Lost Lake. There weren't any other boats to follow so I just turned back.
To me it was pretty hard to read the river. From the diversion dam down to McIntyre you just stay away from the brown stuff and aim for the green. Plus its mostly sand down there. Once we ended up floating over a rock island about 2 miles past the bridge it was time to head back.

I raced jetskis for five years back in the early 2000 and still have friends that race and work the events that Ross puts on.
Just not for me anymore. I thought about racing the Mark Hahn race this past year since I raced the first one and thought it would be kind of cool to do the 20th one. Then I saw the entry fees and started adding up the cost.

Grew up in West Virginia and remember watching races on ESPN's Hot Summer nights back in the day. When I moved to San Diego I would go down to Mission Bay and thought it was so badass seeing Victor Sheldon, Chris Fischettei, Jeff Jacobs and Jeremy McGrath out practicing.

I could draw you a map of that area pretty quickly. Had I been down there I could have led the way too. If its the area that Im thinkin of, you have to hang to the AZ side to get through there, but usually floating through is fine.

That was the area. Next time we will probably drop the skis in and run down through there.

Did you know Dave Hardenberger or Glen Dickinson?

Thats a long ski ride and theres no fuel down there anymore. Ive ridden my 550 to the dam and back, but we parked a truck at Big River with gas cans in it. Enjoy the area, its my favorite stretch of river and its closed 😁😁😁

We have a couple of sit downs to go explore with that should hold enough gas in them. But yes I do hear it is closed. :)
