@BasilHayden Andy, can you make sure you get our info that we sent over the weekend from your staff regarding the roof leaks we are experiencing? Thank you!

@BasilHayden ?

Just let me know if I have some else remove the panels it won’t void my warranty. I need to get these leaks fixed before I have larger issues.

I have all kinds of smart ass comments for this thread. But I’m going to keep it positive.

Hope your leaks stop soon.

Hopefully it gets worked out sooner than later. I’ll give the office a call again tomorrow.

In the meantime just enjoying one of our indoor water features. 🤦‍♂️

Thank God we don’t have any leaks because I made them patch all the holes as I found them. Not palomar, I had a great experience with them the first time. This time they were a little too busy to get us in so we went with someone else. What a nightmare

Palomar will fix it, but I can tell you basil
Hayden is crazy busy and not on here as much as he used to be. So this isn’t the best form of communication. I’d call the office and I am sure they will sort it!

We traded DM’s 2 week ago, then nothing and I know he’s busy. So I did reached out to the office last week, they confirmed they received my email marking the areas this morning.

So much for great customer service after install. Maybe turn over to insurance before you have a mold issue as well.

To be clear my install has been on for years. But all the leaks are under the panels. If I can get a guarantee that if I have someone else removes them it won’t void my warranty.

Palomar’s contract warranty’s the roof for 10yrs and I fall within that timeframe.

Worried about panel or roof warranty? Neither are any good if can’t get a simple call back from company. The roof leaks will be blamed on anything other than install by solar contractor. Age of roof, wind damage, physical damage, anything other than install.

Both really. House was 5-6 old when getting solar. But you never know it might not be their issue but at least I don’t void the panel warranty if they remove them. Or doesn’t it matter IDK. No communication.

Just talked to @Done-it-again and I dont think he will mind me sharing. I am not going to say I havent ever found a roof where we caused a leak, we drill thousands of holes a year into roofs during install, its going to happen. But its very rare, what we generally find is roof leaks at chimneys, or sky lights or vents. In this case I feel this pic says it all, this is a pic of an area where my man saw an issue and removed a couple tiles to see whats going on, pretty sure Palomar didnt do this during our solar install, but I believe it shows why there are multiple leaks at this house, maybe roofer was having a bad day, but this isnt the only issue we found.

Thanks Andy for the call. I do agree that it looks like shit and I’m no roofer anyone can see it.

At the same time, it’s the first time knowing what it looks like from a pic taken awhile back.

You can void a warranty in the case solar caused this. You cannot void a warranty and get out of the warranty for negligent work. This is clearly negligent work and you will win all day every day if brought to the attention of the CSLB. If you can prove this is the original roof and Palomar only attached to top I would wager the 10 year will not be honored by CSLB and you can pursue. CSLB hates contractors and will do everything they can to protect the homeowners no matter the law or circumstances!!

Who determines the fault? It becomes a finger pointing issue. The picture of the roof is bad but it’s the first time seeing it or that I knew I had negligent work performed.

File a complaint with the CSLB. They will start a case and send a inspector out to review. Doesn't cost you anything. They determine quality of work with industry standards at the time, assign a repair value and contact the original contractor. I was just on the contractor side of this and got my ass handed to me. Long story and complete BS, CSLB didn't care and awarded the owner full amount requested $7k and gave zero consideration to my proof that we did nothing wrong. Based on my experience you should be taken care of. 23 years licensed and zero complaints on me until this customer decided to blame their leaky house from major storms on my company. All we did was install LVP flooring!! Rant over.
