Wife and I were in Palm Springs for our anniversary in Aug. Place was dead. That was the big pool party weekend which in other years prior everywhere you turned you bumped into people. Last year the girls did a VRBO and the rules were so strict they were bored. Could make no noise, not even during the day. They were told security came around with noise monitors and would fine owners. Totally nuts and killed that town.
I think there’s been a massive over correction from the Covid times. I understand not wanting a block party every night, but people should be able to enjoy themselves while respecting neighbors.

These established vacation towns need to find a middle ground otherwise business will travel elsewhere and property values will suffer.

I know in our circle a lot of people are turned off by Palm Springs completely because of the strict rules. We stayed in one place where you had to pay $10 per degree you wanted the house under 75. This was controlled by the owner via WiFi and the thermostat was locked up like an office building lol.

Grew up in Palm Desert....couldn't get out of that desert fast enough. Literally, talked to a land developer I worked for out there this morning. He was trying to speak badly of San Diego which has always been very very good to me. I literally told him I just spend 3 days in that shit hole and couldn't leave fast enough. All my friends I was hanging out with commented on how they were trying to get out of there. One old friend that will be reading this post left to Idaho will most likely agree with my observation as well. I truly believe it was built on Indian ruins and they cursed that place. Great place to visit, but would rather slit my wrists than go back.

On a side note, the Costco in Palm Desert sells more alcohol than any other Costco....why, people move there with the grandiose idea that they will golf and play tennis until the first summer hits. Then they end up on the couch drinking themselves to oblivion.

I'll deal with liberals, Prius, crazy taxes, homeless, and border crossers. Did I mention Palm Springs is or was 88% homosexual? Yeah, when they get aids they move there because the environment is best suited for their ailments.
