Palm Springs back to wanting spring breakers

I read a couple articles Hotels again want spring breakers. They are having pool parties and music during the evenings. I guess everyone wants the kids money.

The desert cities have been trying to lure them back for the past few years and hopefully the college kids will give it a try. Some great spring breaks were spent there by me and friends.

I spent a few spring breaks in Palm Springs (before I discovered Havasu). It used to be a great time at the Westward Ho Hotel, but they cracked down way to hard on the fun. Banning g-strings, helmet law, ticketing bikers, BS drunk in public tickets, BS jaywalking tickets (like crossing at a cross walk with a bunch of people and your foot is outside the line). Sonny Bono ruined that place. Glad to see they are missing the money!!

EDIT: The last time I went to PS was 91 or 92. We went, spend 2 days and said screw this...we left for Havasu and spent the rest of the week.

In college in the early 80's, our fraternity used to hold it's annual "Carnation Ball" in Palm Springs. We would take over an entire hotel (the Westward Ho was the spot one year) for the weekend. It was just a big drunk fest poolside for the whole weekend and then a formal dinner/dance on Saturday night at some other hotel or venue. Needless to say, we never got to stay in the same hotel twice because the owners wouldn't have us back..... Good Times......

My son heard that on one floor they had a slip an slide set up down the hallway, how they kept it wet I have ZERO clue but I can only imagine. He and his friends know better than too act like assholes.

Yea I wish I would have took pictures all the window screens are missing sliding doors are busted I'm guessing they had a Macho man thing going on outside lmao all the parking signs and lights and pulled out if the ground it's a mess

Spring break in 1988 I was in Havasu, havin the time of are lives. I don't know if it was Sunday or Monday but it started to get blown out. We went to Palm Springs to continue to party, long story short meet my wife [great Gatsby] of twenty-three years. Still love her...

My official college spring break tour of duty consisted of Cabo, Hawaii, France, and Havasu (It was a second major) . All epic trips but I have to say by far the Havasu trip was the best. We did it right, had the right equipment, amazing time, channel was awesome, houseboats still in copper canyon etc (I have some crazy pics / footage somewhere) that would get me banned for life . It was killer! So much so that I throw every spare dollar I have into the desert.. I digress to the OP and Palm Springs. A little before my time but a friend from school had a place out there. The secretary :boobeyes: from the firm I was clerking at told me about a club out there she used to frequent. So we cruise out there and walk in. Guys I kid you not it was like the Blue Oyster from Police Academy. You could tell the club must have been a rager back a few years.... Did you guys cruise cars or street bikes in Palm Springs on spring break?

I spent alot of time in Palm Springs back in the day, late 70's to mid 80's. Golf all day party all night, favorite club Pompeii's. This place will never be the same that is unless they want to divert the Colorado River to run thru it...

Don't think they need it back. There getting plenty of money from hotel bookings for Coachella fest and Stage Coach. Plus I thought the gays have the White Party during spring break.
