Looking for recommendations for someone in the IE that can install PPF on the wife’s new Tahoe. I received a quote from a place in Yorba Linda @3,200. Thinking 🤔 that’s pretty high. Also looking for someone to black out the taillights.
TIA for any recommendations.

Rhino films in HB if you want to make the drive. They tuck the film very good so you don’t see it.

Give Clear Pros a call in Murrieta. They have done all my vehicles.

3k for a vehicle that big seems like a pretty fair deal if you ask me. It's a very time consuming process to install the PPF properly, equal to wrapping a car.

Generally it runs $2,300+ to do the front end and mirrors at Rhino. Windshield is not needed on Tahoe as they are inexpensive as compared to exotics. Figure under 3K, but I would call Rhino for a quick quote.

If the place in Yorba Linda was shine detailing llc. Worth every penny. Kelly knows what he's doing. Every trim, every molding comes off. It is tucked seamlessly. He's about as good as it gets. He re moves emblems with tape templates so they go back on in the exact factory location. Doing it right takes man hours. Skilled man hours cost money.

I agree. I got my Model 3 done at Protective Film Solutions and it was $2k in 2019. Super high end exotics there, so you know it’s done correctly.

I have the same Tahoe, only 15 years older. I can honestly say that it has only picked up a few nicks over the years, and it's just on the leading edge of the hood. I don't think it's really worth installing PPF on a large SUV or truck since they sit so much higher off the road. Sports cars that sit much lower absolutely benefit from PPF.. I say save your hard earned money for something else.

I don't understand it.

I guess if you are planning on keeping the vehicle long term or its an exotic thaat will hold or increase in vlaue its something to consider.

Tons of people buy a car drop 3k on ppf and then trade it in a year or two down the road. You can have a bumper or hood resprayed for less.

That's a bitchen looking ride!

Im not sure i'd do it on a white vehicle, they don't show much in the way of wear / damage unless its something major. Maybe just ceramic coat it and call it good?

It also depends on where you live. I've had more rocks and debris hit the PPF in TX in 11 months vs. the 3 previous years in CA. I'm talking 10x as many hits. My hood and bumper would have been seriously f'd without PPF.
