Not sure if they are working tkmorrow with Veterans Day. I will text Thane tomorrow am and see what he says.

I would imagine that's going to taken four or five trips to the water to find the right prop combination though? That's not even considering what they may have to do for setup (plates etc)

150+ in a 28' single engine cat is no freakin joke..

From what Thane told me they are looking for 160.That is a number that you have to inch up to in a small cat.I just wanted to know how the first trip went.

If I recall the owner of the F-29 had his set up for acceleration and not top end.

Did the 1350 28SS get water tested last Sunday/Monday ?????? Would really like to hear how it went and some numbers.I have the check half written......

At this point there were still a few loose ends to button up before we get to the water. We are trying to get there this week sometime but we also have 1 boat leaving to New York this week and another deckboat that has to deliver end of next week so all our efforts are going to those right now. But trust me the first opportunity we get all the info will be posted here first!

Hey John. I saw Thane and the boat Saturday in Willow Valley. The boat is simply awesome and there are so many very custom touches. The pictures don't do it justice, especially the interior, I was surprised how much leg room there was in the rear seats given the engine package had to be moved up to accommodate the transmission. I sat in the back seat no problem and I'm a fairly big guy.

Love this boat!

Hey Don! I didn't see you this weekend. WTH? :D Ya the boat turned out pretty dam nice but Thane isn't doing a very good job if he let you get away without getting a check;) The seat is only forward 4" so we didn't lose much room over the stock setup.

Maybe you two should just get a room.:D:D:D

How about getting that boat in the water and letting us know how it works for christ sakes. :D:D

Very nice, ride pat yourself on the back.

That is crazy fast in a 28 ft cat. Hell, that is crazy fast in a 40+ ft cat.

I'm waiting for the first owner to have the shit scared out of him then pick it up for 75K cheaper.:D:D

I sat in a 28 a while back, I also was impressed with room and lay out. Really nice boat.

Holy SHIT is that thing bad!

One question...why did you go with the M8 over a #6? 6's are a fair bit faster.

Any plans on doing one of these in the new 32?

Mercury's new deal. They will only warranty the 1350 with the M8.The 1100 you can go with a 6 drive and keep the warranty.

Yes they will build a closed deck 32. They said as much awhile back in another thread.

^^^ This and the fact that it's 2" shorter than a 6 so we can keep the engine lower in the boat. Big tall hatches look STUPID imo.

Besides that,,,,, after 150 we don't give a rats ass about a few miles an hour less than a 6.

Makes sense...but Randy ALWAYS cares about a few miles per hour...lol.

Now you have me thinking........So a 32' should have about 30' or a little running surface.A single 1350 would be nice..

So we have been testing some. Not as much as we would like to but we are so f*****g busy we can only do what we can. Had it out the other day and just too much torque steer to really get on it but did run it up to 114 then. Other than the torque steer boat felt great. Put a torque tab on the drive the other day and just got back from the lake now and this is what we did today.

The X dimension is pretty high on this boat.. If they aren't dragging the bullet through the water, I'm not sure how much difference it should make?
