Gauging interest on making some passive money storing boats or trailers. Curious about the inmates take on this idea. Residential property, could probably fit 4 trailers, or 5 - 6 boats in an area of my property that at the moment is just empty.

What say the inmate population here... worth the hassle, not worth it?

I want to think it depends on what you would charge

What would you do for insurance in case someone decides to make off with someone else's cherished float?

As residential property is it zoned for this? What if some ahole turns you in? Now what?

If I had the property I'd do the community a favor and allow unsecured boat/trailer storage (seasonal) if peeps weren't permitted to park the boat/trailer in front of their house. But it would have to only be seasonal, the boat/trailer needs a permanent home in the off season. And anyone putting their trailer/boat knows security is on them, lock up the trailer (tongue lock, latch lock, wheel cables, etc), its no more secure than it was on the street but at least its not getting parking tickets, etc. Yes I'd charge, just so people don't get the idea its a free for all, but just a minimum "cover charge" since its use of my property they are "renting".

I’ve never heard of a situation where storing someone else’s crap on your property turned out like you expected. At least in a residential setting.

I’d certainly have an insurance rider covering my property and asset’s, and you know how much insurance is today?

In California it seems like there would be too much legalese to navigate to make any kind of reasonable ROI

Ask @2FORCEFULL about letting people store their stuff at your property. Unless you absolutely need the money don't burden yourself with other people's shit.

Should have mentioned... No Way would this be a random person space rental thing. More of an invite only. But the concerns I've had are addressed above for sure.

Outside trailer spot. In Eastvale/jurupa? Likely 100 per. You can go off archibald ish and riverside, trucking companies are leasing farmland for trailer storage, and then subletting to people with rvs etc for 75 per month

I got 2 spots in riverside
It’s a buddy. He has like 10 rv/trailer/boats outside. All friends and family.
Fully gated lot that if a tweaker were to get access into yard it would be a 1 way trip for him 🤣
4 spots , your not writing a how to get rich for dummies book. But it could help offset a car payment 🤷‍♂️

Friend does this out here in Temecula think he’s up to 12 units $125 each. They have a separate entrance so no rules on pick up or drop off just need to text them so they know it’s not getting stolen. It’s been three years and they haven’t had any issues not sure what they do for insurance.
