Not sure they would ever do that...

...there's too many straight people who like performance boats.

:party2:

You should go over to PB and let KAP know how gay outboards are

Are you kidding? I thought I saw KAP's boat being used as a float in that West Hollyoood parade awhile ago...lol.

Outerlimits is bringing it to Havasu for the poker run and possibly the boat show on april 20.I am sure it will be available for demo rides.

I'd like to put some go pros on it if they are out doing demos..

I'm willing to bet that motor probably makes closer to 700hp if not more. Either way it's a very impressive boat.

X2 I'm thinking maybe Dustin had a hand in re-flashing the ECM. ;):D

I was talking stock from Mercury racing.

Stock 600sci will put out 585 hp at the crank in good conditions! Believe it or not but it's been proven on an engine dyno.

Not to side track the thread here.. but I'm pretty sure Lee at Schiada built 2 24 Schiada's.. One had a 625 Ilmore, and the other had a 600 Merc. The 600 Merc was 10 mph faster. I believer it makes more then 600HP from the factory.

I would guess your right. I spoke to a guy a couple years ago that pulled and dyno'd 2, 1996 HP500's out of his Boat. Both made better than 530 HP. The motors had a about 500 hrs on them if I remember correctly, and both were still sealed, and bone stock.

I'll bet that 600 makes AT LEAST 600 hp.

525 = 530+hp
600sci = 585 ish hp
700sci = 679 ish hp

I have the 700 and could not believe it myself, on the dyno you get your best bang for your buck with the 525. That's why I'm so interested to see what the new 565 puts out at the crank, it could be very close to the 600.

Same owner as the Orange DCB M?

Love the new OL29. Very clean lines. :thumbsup
I was thinking the same thing. Mike Stevenson, the owner of the M35, also had a sick OL called Mamba so it wouldn't surprise me if he built this one too.

The owner of the boat is from MA. The 600sci puts out under 600hp from Mercury. These numbers ore off of Whipples Dyno. A 625 or 650 Ilmor boat is not slower than a stock 600sci, they are both faster. Here's a pic of the cabin and cockpit.

The black interior is hideous :thumbsdown But to each is own :D

As far as the HP#'s, This is how we entertain ourselves. We make creative assumptions on crap we don't really know anything about, then we argue about it. Stick around for a while and we'll have that thing doing backflips off a DCB wake :D

I cant wait to see it, and I think they did a great job with it,

- and Im exactly the type buyer OL has in mind for it.

Im eager to see what the interior dimensions are - like what is the width across the back seat etc.

In terms of HP per MPH a 28 Evo is pretty damm close, but a bit less practical with no cabin access from the cockpit and with 4 buckets, but I dont know how 3-4 across would really fit in that OL. For sure the Black isnt a Havasu thing- but on the East Coast where its cold a lot its perfect.

Regardless - Looks like a home run to me by OL.

Fairly prophetic.. :( Although I don't think it was a back flip.

Do you think it has to do with the 3 steps on such a small boat?

I recall seeing this boat come by at Desert Storm and looked a little "loose" from a handling perspective, seems there maybe was something to what I saw. Granted there was a fair amount of "wake" from other boats, but still.

:eek: I'm feelin kinda guilty right now..

I'm going along with some of the others on here, and throw suspect at the 3 big steps possibly contributing.. What a same, thankfully no one was hurt.

Maybe the Performance boat industry should carefully consider the use of ORANGE GEL on their boats.. I'm not usually superstitious, but jeeeeez. Hasn't been a good year for orange boats..

Where is Havasu Hanging when you need an unbiased east coast cheer leader...:)

In all seriousness, who knows what happened it is hard to exactly tell from that article......Honeyman rolled at Pleasant, M35 rolled at the sandbar at not the greatest speeds......countless boats have rolled and normally due to driver error in that he driver was not experienced or pushed the boat to do something it was not capable of...Driving stepped boats is not childs play, you can say the same for cats, flats, etc......better yet, driving fast boats is not childs play...

If I was buying 180K single v....I would be getting the OL 29....that boat is bad ass.

Just read this boat rolled a couple days ago. Everyones ok. Something about a faulty tab indicator.

Threads been active on OSO. I've been reading it.:thumbsdown

I didn't read it all. Haters gonna hate. Is there a design flaw? Who knows? Really who cares? Turn a boat hard enough at high speed it's gonna roll.

Honestly Tank, I haven't gotten involved in the OSO thread, because I know they will tell me to stay out, but from what I read, it sounded like a faulty trim indicator or something.. I don't know... Everyone in the boat was ok though...

Exactly my point - no one on here is looking to buy this boat.

I disagree with that.. A 29 single vee caters to a lot of the membership here.. Perfect Havasu / Parker boat.

As for it going over could be any number of things.. I wouldn't judge the boat by this incident.. Sometimes shit happens. I can tell you there's several boats manufactured and eveb some owned on here that are questionable to say the least. I haven't been in it yet but from what I hear this OL 29 is t in that category.
