Some bears will laugh at you unless you pull a hand cannon 10M or 44mag. It adds to the emBEAResment that they are laughing while they eat your face.

Bears know where the food is. They know it's NOT in the back county!

You'll see em wandering around Yosemite valley all day, and never see one out backpacking.

Bears can smell a food source from over a mile away. A campground is a solid source of food for a bear.

BTW Stacys uncle killed a full grown black bear with a tiny ass pocket knife. He used to tree bears for fun with his dogs.. Besr killed his favorite dog. He killed the bear and skinned that sumbitch with something about the equivalent of a mail file.. that would be right after he climbed up the tree and beat it with a belt buckle until it fell out of the tree.. lol

You don’t always need a bazooka.. sometimes the f150 will work just fine.

I have told a few stories over the years about her family.. he’s old AF and I still think he’d win on that “Alone” show. It isn’t a contest it’s a lifestyle / normal to them..

When ya meet the guy, the scars on his arms from the bear swipes aren’t even the incident he killed the bear.. lol. And it was a little pocket knife deal more akin to a finger nail file according to the story. Took him forever to skin it because it was such a shitty tool.

A bears head is shaped in a way that is not friendly with a hand gun unless its between the jaw and temple. If its head on well.. and to be honest if it's a black or brown bear, they will be just as scared of you as you of them if not more. It will turn and run the other way.

As a kid we would walk through the woods singing the theme song from the "SMURFS" or "Wizard of Oz" when the parents made us "go check the water pump"!

In one incident the black bear seen my brother and i.. we seen him.. he ran up one side of the canyon, we ran up the other.. I think I was around 10yo

Yeah a dog will tree a bear but that fucking bear will bolt down that tree with a quickness to go back after the dog, seen it plenty of times. Yet i’ve been standing 50ft from 2 raccoons fucking up a black bear fighting over a shredded trash can at the end of our driveway.

Oh yeah, this was friday.

Didn’t realize we were painting scenarios now. You were talking smack on a 45 able to get it done. I simply pointed out that it would pretty much kill every animal in America.

If it was me by the campfire I’d just let the dog off the leash.. lol. Then me the cripple would go get the 45, and then I’d go get the dog back. Bear or no bear.

But I’m not a boyscout.. so I dunno wtf they’d do. Tell ya the truth I don’t even like the dog.. but having a pair of balls if it’s with me than it’s with me.

Now ya can talk about whiteclaws. Because say what ya want, I’d come back with a dog and a new fucking rug. .
