Had a 69 S car.
Liked to run between 68 and 7200.
Did you change the mirror out?
Should be round?

My mirror is what was on the 73 911S. They call it a flag mirror. The round Durant's are way too small

350Z was quicker than the Caymen but the Caymen was faster, 164 and still pulling. 350Z was tapped out at 152. My sons friend with the Z brother is CA Hwy Patrol out of Barstow so we had the go ahead prior to opening them up. I got the 912 red line (No limiter) at 118 but that gets squirrelly for a 2000 lb go cart.

@Ultra912 looks like it was great day for a drive, thanks for bringing us along. A hall pass from the CHP is pretty special too.

Last July I decided to join the local PCA chapter on a spirited run up to Lake Almanor. A little over 200 miles in total on a beautiful day in the mountains. I didn't really know what to expect; I am new to Porches, new to the PCA, hell even new to my car.

The drive from the valley up into the mountains was fine, a little over the limit but nothing nutty. Think big uphill sweepers and mid length straights. Passing was interesting as my primary route guidance was keeping sight of the car in front of me. I kept up just fine in my second to last spot in the 8 car group and was feeling pretty good that I could hang with the new car guys and gals. Once we got into the twisties they gapped me pretty good, I was surprised at how hard and fast they were taking the corners, and I lost sight of the car I was following pretty quickly. I was flogging the old air cooled 3.2 but just couldn't keep up. I caught myself maybe getting in a little over my head and backed off some and just enjoyed the scenery with the my sweep car in the rearview. It was good that they loaned me a handheld radio, at least I didn't miss any turns! I caught up at the planned rest stops and was really only a couple of minutes off the pace. The group was super friendly, welcoming and happy to have a real (old) sports car join them.

My take away performance wise is that big tires, big brakes and turbos trumped light weight air cooled magic that day. Regardless I had a great time.
