Same here. $2350 for best quality and $1150 delivery to Parker. They have 3 grades of quality located in Wilmington. Was going to drop by and compare the A B C quality difference.
Window Rock area behind the Seventh Sister
If you look back at the city from the lake you can see that the city is surrounded on the east by seven mtns/hills. These are the seven sisters, numbered from north to south. My property (24acres) is behind the seventh sister. Not familiar with where that is..
Same thing you do with it in a big metal box. What do you do about sewage?

Shitter n a box above ground means a shallow trench @ 1'-2' deep. Shitter n the bottom of a schooner 6' deep n the ground means a 7' + deep trench. Significant diff.Same thing you do with it in a big metal box.
True. But if you think back a little bit, you just buried a yacht. Adding a septic tank would be a minor addition.Shitter n a box above ground means a shallow trench @ 1'-2' deep. Shitter n the bottom of a schooner 6' deep n the ground means a 7' + deep trench. Significant diff.

No. But ready to buy 1. Going to get ok this weekend from the manager to drop 1 at Echo.Did you ever go check these out?
LOL, That's quite a compliment from you. It's like a Hallett telling a Bayliner it's got great finish work. You have my dream set-up.How the fuck have I not seen this thread before????? This is SOOOOOOOOOO bitchin!
Are you familiar with retrofit windows by any chance? Instead of using a new construction style window that has a nailing flange which is nailed into the framing and waterproofed with your exterior siding, you cut out the old windows and the retrofit ones do not have a nailing flange and just slide into the existing window frames. The windows are screwed from the inside top and bottom sides into the old frames and expanding foam and sealant is used. Same idea I just made steel frames and slid the windows in and used Sikaflex $ around the windows inside and outPlease get me up close how you did/ water proof your windows/ doors
There wasn't panels or a solar controller at that time. There are both now we put a few panels over the "utility sheds." Eventually I will fabricate a panel rack for the top of the second-story container. I have an older generator from a toy-hauler wired in as a backup that we ran at night when we were running electric heaters.Deckin Around, how are you charging the batteries? I didn't see a solar controller....
I’ll come out next year for the weekend.. I promise. Maybe I can get out there before it gets too hot.
When I was looking for a wood alternative to my patio ceiling I came across these. Decided against it as the panels were too wide. Now that I see it in your photos, im contemplating them againI did a TON of research on wall and insulation board materials. Moisture (sweating) when it's 60 inside and 30 degrees outside is a real issue, the walls will be like the outside of a glass of ice water. I went with the first layer of this system made specifically for the walls of containers with pre-cut inserts to fill the wall corrugations. I only did the wall inserts not 2nd layer of solid foam so it's only insulating 60% ish of the walls which has worked fine after testing. The ceilings are all getting R-19 Confort-Therm pre-wrapped insulation.

Build the perfect shipping container insulation kit. Our easy to install, studded moisture resistant, continuous insulation panels match corrugations.www.insofast.com
The double layer PVC wall siding is this awesome stuff: https://www.duramaxpvcpanels.com/wall-celling-panels/
I put up a test section using just Sikaflex adhesive direct to the container wall and no screws and it held fine last winter and all summer. I still have been using a few pan head screws on each piece just for extra support.
Key Advantages and Benefits of the PVC
- Ideal replacement for conventional wall systems
- Cost effective compared to other materials
- Won’t support bacterial growth
- Won’t corrode and is resistant to most chemicals
- Inner truss design for rigidity and strength
- Lightweight, easy to transport
- High strength to weight ratio
- Supports attic insulation loads
- Bright clean appearance
- Virtually maintenance free – just wipe it clean
- Highly resistant to moisture and mold
- Class A Fire Rating – potential insurance savings
- Quick and easy to install
- Hidden fasteners provide smooth finish
- Pre-punched nailing flange
a little bit about the neighborhood: You can say we know the community very well.
I've been riding around Johnson valley since I was a baby, my parents and my Aunt have owned a 5 acre property we call "the cabin" in Johnson Valley since the late 70's but closer to the main road. My grandparents addded a mobile home in the late 80's.
I don't have many pics of my parents place. It is about 3 miles away from my property. This is where we got a lot of the ideas on how to layout our property.
Me and the wife there 15 years ago
This is the cabin looking off the container top deck looking down toward the dry lake (KOH hammertown) and my property. you can see how populated the neighborhood is there.
I had my bachelor party there at the cabin in May '08
We know all the neighbors and they know us. (there is even a secret facebook page). There are probably about 40 different family plots in a 4-5 mile area that are almost all weekends only. One neighbor started a community poker run for Thanksgiving weekend where everyone helps out that has grown to over 400 people this year. We have the Tommy Burger catering truck come to the last cardstop and party place (someone desert house in the neighborhood.) I ran it for 2 years- it's a big job. My family has also run Cardstops for the poker run- Always a great time with the neighbors
This was 2014
We will be out for the Poker Run at our friends plot NDR; Nappi Desert Ranch, across from Walter& Dollie with the trees. My lot is on same road (Milne) across from Charlie. Both plots are 1 north of Bodick. Would like to see your plot and ask you a few questions about water rights and getting electrical connection. Hope to be out for KOH.

Me too! Just found it! Killer motivation. Ive wanted to do this with a group of friends for a while now.How the fuck have I not seen this thread before????? This is SOOOOOOOOOO bitchin!

sweet looking wainscoting system HNL. It's always nice to see a common material used in an uncommon manner, even more so when the application is executed so clean and professionally. That's a beautiful looking space. You should try doing this for a living, you'd prolly do ok. LOLWelding a tube frame would be easiest for water proofing but if you can’t...Here is a quick ”hack” if you are going the wood route. You have to set up the opening up right to create the water tight Opening. The red is wood that you set to the interior face to the inset of the ribs. The blue are the fasteners and the green is a sill pan or flashing. If you PM me with specific information on the ribs of the container I can have a drawing created.

To fill the gaps created by the ribs you could have someone with a CNC router cut trim to fit. Keep in mind that the ribs will not be consistent. I did this on reversed rolled rooffing I used as wainscotIng In our basement. You could even do it with a template yourself with a jig saw.

Yes Sir! Your Christmas story earned you an anytime pass for sure. Much respect. My wife and I have wanted to see KOH at least once. This year simply isn't going to happen but I would sure like to get on your maybe list for camping
