Don't even stop in Memphis if you don't have everything triple locked. SHITHOLE it is.
FACT !!! Memphis is the arm pit of America and what ever you do "DO NOT STOP" in West Memphis AR
My advice also! There is a nice KOA in Arkansa not too far from the Tennessee border we stayed at. Not a bad drive from there to Bristol the next day. We DID NOT want to stay in Memphis!
Too late. We already had reservations here.
My dad has stayed here. His rig is a lot nicer than ours.
Yea we had to drive through a couple of sketchy blocks to get here but there are a lot of people here in real nice rigs.
We have ankle biters and other means of defense and offense. We’ll be fine. 😁

Day four. Another 500 miles for a total of 2112. More than half way there. “Only” 1300ish miles to go. 😳

Nice 👍

For anyone who knows, why would the tug be so big? seems like all they would need are some sleeping quarters. That thing seems to have multiple floors?
We were camped on the Ohio River in Indianna, Saw the same thing. Locals said they travel long distances and have living quarters on the tug.

My son lives just east of Knoxville off the 40 if you need anything. Should be clear sailing from tomorrow on. Beautiful Country.

That's a combination work boat and barge pusher. Check out the multiple double entry doors on the weather deck and the large doghouses on the stern. It indicates shops of some sort. The size of the engine stacks also reveal there's some big power onboard.

Very unusual to see a tug that large only pushing a few barges. Usually they have at least 6-12

After five days and 2600 miles we are in the eastern time zone permanently. Gonna be quite a change.
We’ve never lived outside of CA so the permanent time change I guess will be the first thing we’ll have to adjust for.
Getting late there. Better get to bed.

Eating dinner now. Got to do 600 miles tomorrow.
Staying here tomorrow.

Kind of high rent but fuck it, we’ll never be here again especially in our motorhome. 😁

If you watch sports, you are in for an awaking! TV Coverage is tailored for the west coast, which makes it real late on the east coast!

I’m more of a score board watcher. If it’s late I’ll check the score in the morning. 😁

One of the things I dislike about living in TX….. Minor, but it kind of sucks

Watch your speed as you get farther east. Speed limits are lower and they are more enforced than out west. Ohio is especially known to be very strict.

On the big rivers, they run big tugboats. With usually a lot of barges. 6-12 sounds about right. My sister lived on the Illinois River for a few years. Interesting sights go by. I saw some big stuff stuck in the ice for weeks. Right off her front porch.
Safe travels napa

The map the wife was using had speed trap notifications. There was like three notices. Each time the phone spoke we either saw someone pulled over or a copper sitting in the center divide waiting.

Day six in the books. 612 miles. I think we're getting better at it because today was the longest drive but didn't feel that much longer.
The dogs and cats are doing exceptionally good considering the circumstances. Hell, me and wifey are too.
Tomorrow is the big day. 280 or so miles until we pull up to our new home not on the west coast. New ocean, new time zone.

Is that in Hoboken? That is a cool town and the proximity to the city is great. Stayed there with parents in heir Of RV over the years when we went to NY city

After 7 days of driving 3400 odd miles and 16 states driven through we made it.
Very impressed with how uneventful the trip was.
Motorhome worked flawless. The cats managed exceptionally well. Dogs, well they’re dogs. Hell, me and the wife still like each other. 😁

This time of year can be real weird here, one weekend your snowmobiling and the next your riding your motorcycle.

Welcome home.👍
