So I picked up my vending trailer from first class Rv the other day.. hooked it all up locked on the ball etc.. and half way down mcculloch I feel a pretty good bang.. I’m pretty close to my house so I grab a handful of trailer break and turn on to my side street.. sure as shit, it popped off.

Bent the jack all to shit, damaged the bumper etc..

The pin was too small in the lock and allowed it so slide back and come off..

Took it over to adrenaline, they put a new coupler, new diamond plate, new jack, new everything..

Came out nice! New jack has the remote control so you can back up and lower it on the ball etc.. (same jack I put on all my trailers)

Bill was under 2k for all of it.

So now we have to address the truck.. every year I take my truck to bodyline on Acoma and they go through and take any dents, scratches etc out of it..

I had a neighbors house being built and when they stucco’d the house a bunch of it ended up on my truck, and it more or less embedded in the paint and kinda ate it away?

Then some asshole on an e bike hit my fender

Plus the new rear bumper and the usual little scratches from kids and there back packs etc..

Truck goes in a couple weeks from now when we leave for our annual Rv trip..

When I get it back though it will look brand new. It is surprisingly affordable to have this done, so if your car or truck is looking a little “blah” give Justin a call +1 (928) 208-7516

Total bill should be under 1500 bucks.. that’s with repainting the fender etc..

Was your ball too small, or did it just not clip in properly?
It's one of those 2 things....

I've never used a lock pin or lock when towing (they have a latch build into them that requires releasing in order to open the tongue) and never had a tongue come off the ball, but I use the correct sized ball and keep the mechanism on the trailer adjusted correctly.

Maybe needs a bit of hawk tuah to get the tongue to slide over the ball the rest of way?

Damn this sounds too good to be true. Does $1500 even get you a full exterior detail with paint correction these days?

That’s some bullshit by the stucco crew for at least not taking some plastic and cover your vehicles.

I have that same coupler on at least 6 trailers. That pin had nothing to do with it.
I believe the tongue was hung up on top of the ball myself. I had one that got bent and was a bitch to get to latch under. Finally sucked it up and had the coupler replaced.

After I put it back on, I locked it and tried it again and it popped right off with the jack.. Other than my mini's I don't own anything with a 2 inch ball.

The coupler may have been old and worn out.. Either way it got replaced.

Doesnt seem right that a 1/4" of play at most in the bail latch would allow the coupler to jump off the ball. Unless you had it on the 2" ball instead of the 2-5/8" ball. AKA forgot to flip it over after towing the boat last time.....

Should be 2 5/16" not 2 5/8"

And yes it had nothing to do with that pin. I have used a 16p nail bent over and never a problem. The ball was to small or not hooked up correctly, the latch not adjusted correctly🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm not sure what ya want me to tell ya.. It was the right ball.. I put it back on and tested it and it popped right back off. Hence the replacement of the coupler when It was down there. LOL

Truck has to be clean when you drop it off.. and I didn't say that was the "RFD" price.. :D :D

Could have been worse. Fortunately you're River Fukin Dave and were able to get it handled.

Now you have an excuse to get a real bumper! 😉

Dude the E Bikers are ruthless. We have them but only ride on motorhome trips or at the beach. There are people in my neighborhood that ride those things and don’t even stop to cross a street full throttle no fucks to give if a cars coming

Thanks Boss, I feel soo much better now.
Tally so far for the not a tornado the hit us Hard on 5-29-24:

I guess the good news is the SeaRay has a new home up Amarillo way, figured it was time. Kicking myself every damn day now. I use 2 walking sticks now, they want me in a Walker, and keep telling me to, "Stop Resisting." 🤣 Had that boat for 21 years. Thinking Bass boat.

I keep remembering the guy who bought it in the Boat Yard in Pt Loma, missed a step. RIP.

The Mexican Dodge '14 Reg Cab Sharty? Might be a total. Ugh. ''96 EXT Cargo/ R&R Windshield, "Safelite Repair, Safelite Replace;" $304. Happy with that. Needs a hood. 50 hail dents. No Biggie. It's the new Dogvan 2.0! Monster 5.7. Love me some SBC. BBC too!
Plus, drive trash around to the alley in it, so not replacing $250 tires from punctures.

House needs a new Roof. Never seen so many Roofers in my entire life.
I went with IMO, the Best. Depreciation/ACV killed that payout. See what FEMA says. LOL.

The 1990 7.4 G30 EXT must have thicker sheet metal. And glass. Zero damage.

$ 69 per Sq ft here, gets you on the back end... Money, is just a tool. G'day! Dominate Boys!

They do good work over there at BodyLine. Those are the folks who fixed the front clip of our motorhome after the neighbor backed into it.
