I was in elementary school and still remember that day. I remember watching the funeral procession on TV. We had the day off from school and so did my mom. Donā€™t remember if dad had the day off. Sad time in Americas history.

I remember it as well, probably more clearly than any other childhood memory. From our 4th grade teacher rolling a TV into the classroom so we could watch the news the day of JFKā€™s assassination, to watching live TV as Ruby shoot Oswald two days later.

Remember it all too well. Was waiting for the bus to arrive at the Jr High to go home when the announcement was made.

Holy cow, I'm starting to think some of you fuckers were at Christ's crucifixion.
Hahaā€¦not too far off. I had a colonoscopy yesterday, which Iā€™ve been having every 5 years because the doc found polyps 10 years ago. After I woke up, he came in and told me the good news is I donā€™t need one in 5 years, because Iā€™ve been clear twice, which means it can be extended to 10 years. Then he told me it was actually my last one, as Iā€™ll be too old for the risk in 10 years.

It certainly made me more aware of my age and approaching demise. šŸ˜‚

I remember as well. Even our communist state responded in schock what happened. Kennedy gold plated coins started circling, albeit it was illegal to sell it on the streets. Kennedy was popular with the folks in Hungary, especially for his actions to tell the Ruskis to fuck off from Cuba. šŸ‘

I remember that day vividly. I was in the 3rd grade at Los Altos Elementary School in Hacienda Heights. I was playing tetherball with my buddy, Kenny. Recess bell rang and we were ordered back to class. Another friend shouts that Kenny was just shot dead. I called him stupid saying I was just playing with him and he said, "No Kennedy, Idiot!"

We went to class and it was on all the TV's. A few minutes later, the Principal, Dr. Erickson, began saying prayers over the loud speakers throughout the school. Man, try that today, and someone would end up on the cover of the anti-Christ forums.

Having been to the Dallas School Book Depository a few times, I still don't know how Oswald was able to accomplish those multiple hits, on a moving target, with that distance, in just 2-3 seconds.

Was walking the steps between Junior High and High school to the Cafeteria , Will say I've come to appreciate Bobby upholding some of His Fathers and Uncles legacy , I also will say I can personally put a high powered round up a Knats Ass at 100 yards and will NEVER accept the Book depository Lee Harvey bullshit story

The day the coup happened. :( The people of our nation were robbed of a great leader who made tough decisions and owned them. Do I agree with everything he did? No. But he was a great leader, IMO.

The pic of John Jr saluting his coffin as it went by on his third birthday gets me every time.

I was in 5th grade at recess, and you could tell something was going on because all the teachers were gathered, and some were wheeling TVs into the rooms. If I remember correctly, they gave us some extra time then brought us all in and told us the news as we watched on TV.

I remember my pops telling me the foreman on the construction jobsite told everybody the president had been shot, and to pack it up and go home. Respect.

Nowadays the response on a jobsite would be...Que?

Saxon wrote a song about it, Dallas 1pm. The lyrics are sad but instrument wise it's a good song.

Dallas Morning News had a mention about it in today's print edition...way at the back of last section in the "today in history." I guess Dallas just wants to forget about it after 61 years?

To be fair they did have an article online.

Pics I took last year:

Yes, some of ya'll have been boating since Christ was a corporal šŸ¤£

I remember my Mom saying how vividly she remembered the day. Teachers and students crying. They rolled a TV into her classroom. She was a junior in high school.

Watch this documentary with Chauncy talking about the assassination scenario. His recall of names and events are impeccible.
Go to the 50 min mark in the video.

The DMN has been moaning about Dallas's "collective guilt and shame" along with the alleged stain on the city for decades. It's fucking ridiculous.

I recall the chain of events. I was out of school for medical reasons, my family had a soda business. My dad and I were out making deliveries. I remember being in the Polanski Club, we were all watching and then it happened.šŸ˜Ž

True story. I was in third grade at Marshall Elementary school in Rosemead California. I had become quite a marble shooter in my younger days and during lunchtime out of the schoolyard, I would shoot marbles with the other kids and I was taking their marbles because every marble that you knock outside of the circle is yours to keep. Well after I had myself a bag full of marbles, I go back to class and teacher taps me on the shoulder and says youā€™re wanted in the principals office. ( Gambling charges). I believe it was late afternoon as Iā€™m sitting in the waiting room to see the principal. I was scared shitless. All of a sudden I could hear women in the office crying and talking loudly about how they canā€™t believe this is happened. Finally a woman comes into where I am, points at me and says ā€œgo homeā€. When I finally get home my mother had it on the TV and we all know what happened.
