In any event, the states have the right to change how they allocate electoral votes and 14 states have joined a movement to give their electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote regardless of how the state itself voted. So although I think the original Constitution was pretty clever, others have not over time and this is just one more example where people will change it to get their way.

Whether it be Senate rules for filibuster, or the electoral college, as Donald Trump has clearly repeatedly stated, winning is all that matters........
