That one is sweet in the pic............. My top tube does not overlap the seat tube like that one though.

Mine wasn't quite that nice and the skinny light weight whels were a little bent from street riding;)

Still like to have it today to rebuild for logan.

I didn't grow up with that many cool things(My dad wasn't into sports, cars or hobbies)....Once my parents got divorced I had to pretty much horse trade to get anything. I do still have a couple transformers and Lion Voltron in the box that I can pass on:)

I ran 1 3/8" rims too up till I was like 13. Only used the bike for racing though. I was pretty soft on my wheels though. Like a gazelle. :D had mags on my pit bike. :thumbsup Both my fully custom bikes were stolen out of my girlfriends garage on the same day, while we were in the house. Or I would still have them. Both Powerlites. No wonder why you are always buying toys and stuff now. :D

OK...... finally took a pic of my bike. Maybe a GT? I don't remember them having the top tube like that. It has GT bars and forks. Ambrosia rims were the shit back in the day. Uni seat.

Early 90's GT box series or Pro series. Looks like a nice set up for racing :) keep it for 10 years, someone will want it if you don't. I only collect GTs and like a lot of guys on here I'm chasing what I couldn't have in my childhood.

So you think the frame is a GT too? It has a serial beginning with ZL on it. I did a search on I think old school bmx and couldn't find anything. So maybe it's worth a lil cash. :D It wasn't one of mine as a kid, so I'm not really attached to it.

Is the serial # on the rear drop out or bottom bracket? Ok I'm a member on this site (following link) and have been for a few years. Here is some info on GT serial #'s. If it starts with letter(s) its usually a bike that was built in Japan, Taiwan, etc.

Hope this helps :)

Take a pic from the back showing above the breaks. I had a old school GT that looked alot like that.(It was really light)

Mine had 3 peice crank uni seat and the skinny rims on it when my dad threw it away after I moved out:swear:rolleyes:

Raced a couple times at the Y in Orange.

mine looked just like this....This thread pisses me off;):D

my_gt_santa_ana_013_blowup.jpg

I had the same bike as that GT...raced it after my JMC cause I thought I needed a larger frame...it was slower than the JMC.....mine had Dura Ace cranks, Bullseye BB, Bullseye hubs, Campy headset...and it was chrome and red....traded it for a stupid road bike. stupid move...

Gonna have to disagree on it being a GT of that vintage. GT geo was long n' low by then. In all honesty, I can't recall a single GT BMX product from Santa Ana to after sell out that didn't have the seat tube piercing the top tube, and the seat stays joining the side of the top tube as opposed to at the back of the seat tube. The only 90s GTish feature on that frame is the machined head tube, but even that is too long. I raced ABA region 16 through the 80s, up till about 91, and still rode throughout the 90s. Except for a short stint on a very rare (kick myself monthly) Redline pro XL, and a couple of weekends on a Diamondback Reactor team (with the CNC'd billet cranks) I ran almost exclusively GT frames.

The only thing near a GT it might be is a very early Dyno, but I don't remember ever seeing one without the logo in the dropouts, and to be honest the geo looks more like late 70s or very early 80s era BMX in general.

Like half the guys here, BMX kept me out of a ton of trouble, gave me an identity growing up, and was an anchor during some craptastic times. My race bikes got stollen out of my dad's garage my junior year in HS. I was done racing by then anyhow, but it still sucked losing things I had spent so much time and effort on.

As far as rare stuff that I shouldn't have sold, I unloaded a mint Race Inc aluminum cruiser frame, that I should have kept. I didn't like the geo on it, never really rode it, etc. but that was probably the most collectible BMX item I've owned except the Redline Pro XL; but the age of the Race Inc would have trumped the craftmanship and one-offness of the Redline.

A couple of months ago I started shopping for my 5yr old daughter's first "real" bike. It was soooooo damn hard passing over the Mini Rippers and Bronco's to get her onto a beach cruiser. The one bike I had always wanted but never got was a later model Ripper with the seat stay and chainstay ends cut at an angle for the joint to the dropout. SE stopped building frames by the time I was able to afford one/fully into racing. On the upside, my daughter loves the beach cruiser, so she rides it, which means she's riding, which is better than having a bike daddy loves, but she doesn't ride. To scratch the itch, I'm contemplating picking up a 24" OM Flyer for riding with the kids. No need to pull out the FS rig for trips to the schoolyard.

Yea, I don't think it's a GT either. I was peepin through that site, and all the GTs have the top tube intersecting through the seat tube.

PK Rippers and the Quadangles were my favorite frames. A kid on my street had a PK w/ Bullseye hubs and Hutch cranks & pedals. Man that bike was bad ass.

That's what I was thinking...
