Awesome.
Our little trailer in bullhead didn’t even have a bathroom! Just a place to sleep (one bed and a fold out couch) and get out of the sun. The 3 of us kids slept under the awning rain or shine.

Is that your dad in the flatly?
My Dad is the one with the dog in his lap.
We actually had a bathroom and a shower so that was nice, they cut the front of the trailer off and we had the kitchen then a bar at the kitchen.

There wasn't a fast food joint on every block and HFCS in nearly every processed food item in the store.

I think that's only a small part of the reason for the shift in people's size. Inactivity and staring at a screen, be it computer games, laptops or our fucking phones is the culprit. It didn't happen overnight and I don't see it going away anytime soon. I'm amazed at the obesity of kids today.

River Lodge.

These were sent from another family friend. Her dad, Bobby, passed away a few years ago and he's the one in the pics and theyowned 'Chicken of the Sea' and the silver flake and black '65 Tahiti. Almost all the friends that grew up with my parents are gone, kinda bitter sweet seeing this pics and thinking of them too.

Brand new Weiman and a new Regatta on the right, can't remember the v-drive.

Don't think the hydro was with our friends group. Tahiti in the water on the left, cool flat bottom outboard on the beach.

Only posted the camp sites pics because I can remember when a water fight would break out tripping over or stubbing a toe on the tent stakes and lies that were everywhere.

I'd love to find one of those Weiman Marine Racing Team t-shirts. Sylvester the cat on what looks like a raft with an outboard.

I wish time could have stopped when things were simpler….do you really need a 120mph 30 foot boat on 200 foot wide 17 mile long river.
I’d just finished up the boat hours before this picture, quick test at Puddingstone and on to Parker drinking beer all the way in those days. Would have been 1977.

In the old river days most of us did all the mechanical work On the boats in the garage and then tow them out to the river. No one detailed our boats we did!

Is there a dedicated "old school" pic thread on here? I know I'm not the only one that enjoys the hell out of this shit and it'd be sure nice to have all these types of pics in one spot...😶‍🌫️

Boats, drag racing, hot rods, womenz, etc. Heck, I might even load up some tractor pulling pics from the glory years for you guys that might appreciate that sort of thing?

As I looked through the pictures, I was reminded of something…….

Back in the day……. Lol. I start with that phrase because I don’t know when it started or finished.

In the old days, 60’s and 70’s. If you went into Roadrunner, it was all graffitied up with people who used a marker to write their names and other such stuff, all over the walls, posts, headers, and any painted surface. Basically the same written stuff you see on the bills at Fox’s. As the season progressed, it would become harder and harder to find a free spot to put your name. Every winter, the bar would be repainted, and it would start all over again. I remember doing it as a kid while the song Let It Be by The Beatles was playing. It was that era.

When I looked at the old pictures of Roadrunner, I remembered this nugget of trivia. In fact, in the picture in this tread, I can predict the photo was taken before Memorial Day, since it appears still early in graffiti season. Does anybody else remember that?

Dead on....I remember those days and the guys that were 5-10 yrs older than me are in those pics and they were all fit, and likely drank more than the guys of the same age today....they were either carpenters, warehouse guys, or managers of some sort but they did not lack activity or have electronics for stimulation... they off roaded, turned wrenches, rode bikes, did more outside in general... but I also think our food has a lot of do it with.....diet is more than 60-70% of someone's make up...

This video was posted on a Parker site several years ago. It’s a blast from the past!

That's a cool video from sharp shooter! I need to find the video that @CigAjerk posted up on the history of water skiing shot on 16mm featuring them damn Johnson kids! 😁

@old rigger might be able to find it.
