Tom Cowle's 21' Daytona is out on the rigging floor and will be heading to GS Marine soon for the pump modifications.
Ordering all the gauges, etc. next week and will start cutting holes when Greg sends it back.

What's a 21 going for?

Updates:

Dash, Helm, Trim, etc. Should be leaving for B1 Racing next week sometime, then on to Phoenix for the motor install.

I saw it today. It's going to be one bad ass boat. Damn near left a deposit with Gary [emoji2]

When your ready, we'll put something on paper and then go arm wrestle Leach for his "special price" :D

Thanks again for stopping by and giving us your support, much appreciated.

I loved the front but that rub rail or whatever u call it in the back just kills it. Is there a cleaner option?

Agreed, it needs to be capped. It's a night and day difference when the 21's have the rail deleted in front and back.

My old 21 had it, outlaw bought it and deleted it and it was a huge difference.

I'm totally in favor of capping ... just a pricey option these days ...:grumble:

I'm far from an expert, but what's entailed in capping?
I'm not sure what the terminology means.

Personally,I'm not.
Never been a fan of cutting into and patching perfectly good Gelcoat.

When I learned this trade the goal was to have the boat come out needing no gel repair.
Now we do repair on purpose:rolleyes

Check out the 36 Speedster thread for visual aids.
Basically after the deck and hull are joined they grind into that seam. Then fill it with glass, grind that fill smooth, then regelcoat over it.
The bitch is,and where the talent comes into play for the repair guy is blending in that new(external gel) which is now on top to the gel that was shot in the mold during the build.Getting that blend to be seamless.

Can stainless rub rail work on this boat? Perhaps not with the complex angles on the back.

Or rub rail absent the screws?

I'd be paranoid docking or tieing up with a capped boat. Not sure it would be practical for me. But the work and talent you gel artists do in and out of the mold blows my mind

Any updates? Pics?

It's been at B1 Racing for a few weeks, then off to AZ for the engine install.
Owner picked up the motor harness and said it should be back to the shop for interior in ... 2 weeks. :thumbsup

This is an example of partial capping on my Daytona..I personally thought it was a clean job, but it's a basic one color, I could only imagine if it was a typical Eliminator 5 to 7 color combo.
Just the front and rear are done, with a one piece stainless rub rail down he side. Clean

Is your boat at Tank It? Getting set up for center steer?

I wish my floors looked like that. What it cost to get them redone like that, in a 19'?

Insane! Any more close up of the interior and rigging? How much power does that engine make? Looks like Chris at B1 did some really bitchen work (not abnormal). Lower river boat?

I was talking to the owners kid about the build when I was in there when my interior was getting redone and he told me it was making 1100hp. 588" with an 8 71 sitting on top
