Picked up a Friday & Saturday spot at Carpinteria state beach this past week. I check everyday for cancellations and got lucky.

Threw everything in the car and just setup for the weekend. We came here last year too. So easy with the two of us. Took us 10 minutes to setup everything and now we’re at Rincon Brewery watching the dodgers lose. 😆

Love that place. One of my grandparents favorite spots when they were still around. Great memories

We used to camp there back in the day when I was a kid.

We used to bring Waverunners and run them in the ocean there. Good memories.

Right on, camping in a tent is fun, occasionally, haha. Feels like an adventure! Sometimes your only option if you want to stay somewhere awesome. Way cool!

It's not bad. I'm not a huge fan of the sites being side by side parking lot style.

I personally prefer refugio.

We bought a camping blow up pad and it made a huge difference. Slept great. Woke up and made breakfast and just finished taking a hot shower. The facilities here are super clean. They come out three times a day on the weekends and clean all the showers and toilets.

Weather is perfect today. Going to walk into town and see what we can get into today.

… I haven’t camped at the Carpenteria campsite since I was about 10… Which would have been about 1955… Used to barefoot it from our campsite down a little road across a saltwater inlet where punk grew wild… Then to a little store to get some red licorice and then barefoot it back to the campsite…
…My parents wouldn’t let me go, body surfing by myself… Guess they didn’t trust me🤷🏽‍♀️

That’s rad. I started camping as a kid and loved the tent. Got olde got married kids came went luxury with a trailer etc. now kids don’t go daughter in college back east wife ain’t as much into going.

Now I’m just simplifying as well going back to the old way and enjoying it. Cooler of beer radio for tunes and a campfire. Plus I can take the computer car back truck 30 bucks fuel Instead of a hundy.

Mixed report...

Ran perfect all morning, and about half way to the Island, the port engine started acting funny. We made it to the island, I dicked around with it a bit, and we figured it's a crap in the tank issue STILL.

Came back and replaced the fuel filters, cleaned the pre-filters, and I tore both carbs apart and cleaned em all out. Found a bunch of nasty ass stuff in there.

I swapped the carbs side to side, just for good measure, and dialed em in all over again.

I just now took a hot shower after being a bildge rat yet again!

We are gonna head out Early tomorrow morning and see how she goes.

I think we are gonna be replacing fuel filters on the regular.

Saw a pod of three whales and a whole bunch of dolphins that hung out with us for awhile! That shit just Never gets old. 😊

Remember how the boat used to look?
