In Vegas for the Jr Finals a couple years ago. They will have trivia contests and giveaways for the kids all weekend. First 2 kids to the tower with a 12mm wrench, hot wheel, etc. Kids running, golf carts hauling ass towards the tower, great stuff!!! Well they asked for anyone with a cassette tape,,,, We were the only ones to show up, 😂 On top of that it was the box set of Lord of the Rings the kids had listened to on the way. Got extra points for that!

Yes the excursion still has the stock stereo,,,,

I still have a bunch of cassettes, but my cassette deck broke probably 20 years ago. I think TASCAM is one of or only brand still making a quality cassette deck, but it's way too expensive for my budget.

My JVC cassette deck has gear drive, no rubber belt to diintegrate👍

We literally keep an old junk 2004 Ford Explorer around because it still has a cassette player.

When we moved to Italy in 1976 we lined the bottoms of 2 huge steamer trunks with 8 track tapes. I also brought my Marantz 2220B amp and 2 JBL speakers and a home 8 track player. They saw many hours of use.

Digging through a box of stuff that recently showed up at my house from my parents, I found multiple board games, toys and ..... Records. A total mishmash of stuff about 2" worth. I just tossed them in a corner for the moment and my 8 yr old son found them. Several weeks later (last weekend) we were at a crab feed fund raiser and in the raffle was a brand new record player. Guess what he stuck almost all his tickets in? So, we now have a record player in the house again. Fortunately it has a Bluetooth output.

He has been totally enamored with it for the last few days. Things like the Disney jungle book album I had when I was younger than him.... The one I will probably regret is in the box was a mouth sounds book, with record no less that he has discovered. Think Motormouth Jones from the police academy movie type stuff.
