I thought for sure I was gonna hit the fucker. Usually the 2nd one turns around. I didn't put my lights back on bright after meeting the last car. I had someone right behind me too. It was a delicate dance between not hitting the deer and not getting rear ended.

Having lived in highly populated black tail deer country ( central Cal) for a long time always assume there are a whole train of those fuckers behind the one you can see. Sometimes they will even jump straight into your vehicle from the side. Also, I've ran a couple down hitting the brakes where they will often veer your same direction of travel . Of course never swerve sharply . One time I ran a little one down hitting the brakes hard as he veered our same direction towing a boat and the whole rig was covered in guts from tip to stern lol. My last two new trucks I hit two deer on the same canyon road jumping into the passenger side of the front bumper bouncing off and only slightly bending both bumpers in the exact same spot with only 200 miles on each new truck which was a trip. One of those was a big buck in the rut time of year and it looked like he made it alive. Never hit another one in either truck again . Everything is bigger in Tx though

My kid has hit 2 of them this year. One ran into the side of his Tundra - The other he hit dead on.

The second one we were 600 miles away and he is calling me a 1am. Dad I just smoked a deer. Kind of helpless knowing I can't help that far away - Luckily I was able to get my daughter awake and she went a stayed with him until the deputy arrived. Was only about 2 miles from home.

Anything can happen - I will probably hit one tonight after saying this but I usually see them way off on the side of the road. My wife always reacts - How the fuck did you see that I never would have noticed. Apparently my kid doesn't either.

I was a little distracted. In the background you can see red and blue lights. They're actually dragons in someone's yard. i was just kinda looking at them at the time.

Can I ask what dashcam system you are running? Is it hardwired in or a plug in? It has decent night time resolution. I am looking to get one for both my car and truck, but I hate having to plug/position/unplug every time I get in the car. Glad you missed it and didn't get rear ended either! Where was this at?

It's an older Rexing that I got from Amazon. I hardwired it in, but chose a suction cup mount. Other mounts are available. This thing was sub $100. Now it comes with wireless download instead of the micro SD that I have on mine.

34 years of driving trucks this was on my way to Sinton, TX few months ago HWY 59 middle of the night I’m putting along at 70 mph & out of the darkness I see this in my lane……GOD DAMN MOTORCYCLE that passed me not 5 min prior. I remember him well. I was 80,000 lbs rollin and thank god nobody was next to me. I managed to swerve and keep it on the Tires. I have never been so scared in my life!!! I was in tears thinking I ran over this poor guy.

I have it on video & its crazy to watch. Looking at the picture I think he broke down and was on the side of the road & got side swiped. The only other car was a red ford f250. He was long gone. If you look hard enough you can see this guys shoe & blood on the road. His foot was still in the shoe!!!! No idea if he made it or not. Still think about him. Hell of a way to go 🥲
