If this is a consignment boat I would look for owners info on board or have some one in law, enforcement run the numbers and contact owner direct. Let him know the situation and he may deal direct with you.

Grads I know this is the one you have your heart set on but for referrence or should this fall through I found this in trying to learn more about this boat:

http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2005-formula-280-sun-sport-102836272

I am sure you already saw it but it has the 6.2's as well however only has tandem trailer and could have been in salt and is far away from you but just tossing it out there.

That boat is on Lake Norman....Doubt it has ever seen Salt.....

I'm sure I've seen it on the water when I lived there...

Someone just posted on the RDP Facebook that they are towing a boat east and is looking for a job coming back west.

Thanks for finding that but unfortunately it's an open bow and we plan on spending the night on the boat.

10-4. My buddy has a 28 FT Sundancer for sale...2011 with 22 hours

Wouldn't the functionality of a Formula SS model to a Sundancer be quite different? Formula SS are performance cruisers with a very compromised cabin in terms of live ability, but adequate for the occasional overnighter. Sundancers are really live able express cruisers without a whole lot of performance. I would think the comparable would be Sundancers to Formula PC? I would love to upgrade to a Formula PC at some point.

The Sundancer 280 JD's friend is selling looks like a really pretty boat, I would really qualify how I am going to use it with a single screw. Twins have some real advantages on the express cruisers for maneuverability and redundancy..

Sundancers 280 are totally trailerable and legal...

I looked at SeaRay Sundancers over the years and found excellent deals available in the Great Lakes area. Have and had numerous friends with them as they are very popular up there. Al are kept wrapped and stored for winter months and older models are in great shape.

I was looking kind of serious at a late 90's model with twin small diesels. Not that fast, but roomy and dependable in the big waters. Plus it's trailerable.

I have a hard time admitting in but owning that Sundancer would be a ton of fun on any lake but looking at it on Powell...

We've spent time with friends and they are comfortable for 2 couples. We got weathered in on Mackinaw Island and spent several days on board. Boat made around 40mph and that was just fine for cruising and easy on fuel at 3/4 throttle.

We love our Sundancer and we spend 10X more time on the lake because of the comfort and being able to stay out on the lake over night. I am approaching 50 years old so that may have something to do with it. I would want twins for Lake Powell and I have twins on mine, it is an awesome boat for Powell. You really load up the boat for a couple days on the lake. My 290 is 12000 lbs wet and a 280 is going to be almost right there. Twin 5.7 EFIs get the job done but thats it, very little to spare. 38 mph wide open is top speed with a light load and 1 mpg is about it for fuel mileage when planing at 28 mph.

Just got the call...boat sold. To say I'm a little disappointed is an understatement. This is the second one that I was literally a day late to call on. The dealer said he knows of a few guys that might be on the fence about selling so he said he would rattle their cages a little for me. Bummed.

Sorry to here that Grads. That was a nice boat. What about the one with the wrap? Is that one still available? That one looked nice if you ditched the wrap.

That one is still available but I went and looked at it and it's not in great shape and has zero options to it, options that are on my "must Have" list.

Greg, try searching "skipper buds" it's a marina/dealership that's local here. They have all sorts of big azz cabin cruiser boats similar to what you are looking for.

They have location in Oshkosh, green bay, etc. It's a fairly large operation. They may be able to help you with your search.

Would you consider a formula 382 fastech?
A buddy in Ohio has one that may be for sale come spring. 2002 382 fastech. 500efi, gen, ac, special order paint, every option available except extension boxes.

No the Fastech's are out. One of the must have things I want is the "U" shaped seating with a table in the cockpit. Thanks for the tip on skipper buds.

Just because I disagree with your particular "brand of bullshit" doesn't mean I'd like to see you not be on the water.
:skull:skull

We are all pulling the same rope.

Good luck dude.

I'm not opposed to a Sea Ray. Is it twin engine or single? Trailerable?

Thanks for looking I think he will pass. He wants a formula only.

Then he should be more specific, like - not saying he's open to a sea ray, lol

I just saw it next door and thought of him. I actually read sign as 2010 ( motor ), not a 99, either way it's in good shape from what I could see.

There used to be a guy in my neighborhood that had a 280 Sundancer. He towed it with a late 90's Durango...it looked like a Flea Circus. :D I have always liked the Sundancers.

Thats A nice Boat...

Check Ft Myers/Cape Coral listings 6 out of 10 boaters have a Formula..Lots of Nice boats in the canals around my house ...Several with Brokers Or Private Sale

Yeah, there's quite a few of them on the East Coast especially Florida and they're quite a bit cheaper. The problem is me getting out there to look at it, most don't have a trailer, transporting it, they're mostly salt water boats and most have bottom paint.

Yes it was. At the time I thought it was a little high priced...now I have a better idea of what they are fetching.
