RVs are not made to live in full time. They are put together with staple guns. I sold my trailer under similar situation people knocked at my door and asked if I would sell it to them and said it was for a brother and his wife to live in on the side of the house cause they basically went homeless. Sure take it I was done with it after 10 year probably sold it about 2-2.5k under market. I warned the people buying it that it wasn't a great idea but what are you going to do and they peppered me with stupid questions for about a week I finally did stop answering the calls. In your case I wouldn't doubt the guy overworked the genny ran the oil dry or it started smoking and he didn't shut it down right away and fried it

As for the generator, he probably needs to fill the fuel tank above a 1/4 tank then the generator fuel pickup will be in fuel again.
Could be that or it lost a belt and/or pulley. Did that repair once. Had to remove the Onan 5500 from under the rear of the motorhome. I would have charged myself $4k if I would have know the level of work involved before I started the repair. 😁 Easier and cheaper to pick up a new generator from Harbor Freight.

Couple that bought the RV later were going to let adult son with couple small kids live in it for a year or so before they started traveling with it. I can only imagine how that worked out.

That sucks. Hope they figure it out and move on from calling.

The Ford E350 you sold me is running great. It was a used purchase so I wouldn't expect any guarantee.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy something from you and Robert. Great People to deal with.

Money counters are cheap and they detect fake bills just an FYI.. Almost everyone has them out here because people do so many cash transactions on boats etc..

RD
When I worked for an armored car company delivering money. I have been at retailers like Walmart when they put money in there machines and find counterfeit money while I am still standing there that have been through many many counters. And there is nothing I can do about but laugh with the customer.

I appreciate this a lot, thank you! Also, very glad to hear it’s still running good!

It kind of sucked getting a text like that when we really tried to help the guy so your post cheered us up a bit.

This is why I started using @Outdrive1 for boat listings. Tired of being someone's boat coach once they buy something. When I sold the HTM, Paul was already fielding calls about weird questions from the new buyer. Was worth the commission x10 not dealing with that shit.

Sucks, are you even sure that they weren't making up the whole fire victim story? Sad that we would even have to think that people are capable of that.

I use a burner number when selling things then delete that number after deal.

Cut all contact with them now, tell Robert to block the number. Nothing good will come out of this. Anyone throwing around the term "lemon" on a used vehicle purchase is beyond help. I know it may be hard for him since you guys are good people, but it has to be done.

Thankfully I think we are pretty much done selling any large items. We have what we want, and don’t see any need to upgrade. But, will definitely think about someone else do it next time as it became a headache. Lesson learned. I’ve sold an enclosed trailer and work van through RDP and it was easy.

He isn’t responding anymore. Rob would have drove over there and tried to help him if the guy didn’t turn so sour, but then that would set up a situation where the guy thinks he will always help. I don’t think he’s going to register it after asking if we would keep it all in our name.

His house burning down was true.. I had the guys address from his ID, and pulled it up on Google while he was here and it is the same house that we saw in the photos. So I could confirm it was legit.

You did your good deed. All used vehicles are sold as-is, even tho you might lose in court if it gets to that point.

You can notify DMV of the sale online. Cancel the insurance and move on.

I notified the dmv the same night and cancelled insurance the next day so all is good.
